Yeah that was a good final. I think something needs to be done about the spinner bots though because like you say they're just causing irreperable damage by the 3rd head to head. Especially when some of the teams - like Aftershock and Carbide - seem to play dirty and just rip the competition to bits so they're guaranteed the final win. Can tell its pissing off other teams as well.

But I just don't see a huge amount of sport in fights that last for 10 seconds because someone's spent the most money on the fastest weapon.

James 23-03-2017 09:44 PM

I do enjoy the destruction the spinners bring to the arena though.

BigSister 26-03-2017 12:18 PM

Am pretty annoyed that the PR for the final has said who wins each heat so now I know all the winners.

As if by magic, all 4 of tonight's head to head robots are spinners

reece(: 26-03-2017 10:34 PM

Bringing Wyrm back.. what an utter waste of time

reece(: 26-03-2017 10:42 PM

Mess at them throwing the robot in the bin

Shaun 27-03-2017 05:21 AM

Poor supernova </3 one of the more stylish and long running spinners but can never quite get it right.

Hope pulsar aren't the wildcard because it's probably the most unreliable letdown on the show

BigSister 30-03-2017 06:25 PM

They edited the PR now as they pushed the final back a week because of golf
This weeks looks good though Apollo vs Carbide again

Shaun 30-03-2017 06:51 PM

Yeah it seems a bit unfair though that the two finalists are now in the same heat

James 31-03-2017 01:04 AM

The channel Spike is showing the US version, Battlebots. I watched it last week and the UK Razer team were on it with another robot.

James 16-04-2017 11:59 PM

Good final. Just finished watching it

reece(: 17-04-2017 05:37 PM

Aftershock vs Eruption was great

BigSister 17-04-2017 10:09 PM

Enjoyed the final and even though probably the right robot won I liked Eruption as well

James 17-04-2017 10:22 PM

They are recording a new series in May.

Although the final was predictable there were some great fights inbetween the instant KOs... Eruption are great. Just really wish there was more competition that could go either way rather than "whichever one gets flung across the arena and has their motors fail first, loses".

reece(: 29-10-2017 06:48 PM

Apparently this is back on :skull:

Shaun 29-10-2017 06:49 PM

Yeah I meant to bump this last week :skull:

Behemoth finally winning a heat <3

Shaun 01-11-2017 06:05 PM

I was about to say Carbide and Gabriel being both in the same opening heat seems a little unfair given their successful histories but oh wow it made for an entertaining one

Edit: Eruption AND Aftershock too?!

Shaun 11-12-2017 04:04 AM

Just watched the series final :clap1: what a run of fights.

Eruption worthy winners  so happy Carbide have retired for good as well, so bored of their 10 second wins.

Happy Behemoth did so well, and surprised by Nuts! The 10-man battle was great but confusing.

James 17-03-2018 05:40 PM

I've just read that the series is not being renewed.

Robot Wars has been axed by the BBC again
1 hour ago

Robot Wars has been axed by the BBC for a second time.

The show featuring duelling robots was rebooted on BBC Two in 2016 and ran for three series.

Presented by Dara Ó Briain and Angela Scanlon since its return, it is to be scrapped to "make room for new shows", the BBC said.

Soon after the announcement the hashtag #BringBackRobotWars started trending on social media.

Sad to confirm the BBC’s decision to de-activate our House Robots. A huge thank you to Dara & Angela, our brilliant judges Noel, Lucy & Sethu, all of the amazing teams and most of all...you for joining us on this amazing robot smashing adventure. #BringBackRobotWars #RobotWars

A BBC spokesman said, "We are very proud of Robot Wars and would like to thank Mentorn Media, the presenters Dara Ó Briain and Angela Scanlon, and all those involved in the last three series.

"However, in order to create room for new shows it won't be returning to BBC Two."

Robot Wars was originally broadcast on the BBC from 1998 until 2003, then on Channel 5 until 2004.

It had a peak audience of six million viewers in the UK during the late 1990s and became a worldwide success, showing in 45 countries including the United States, Australia, Canada, China, India, Germany and Italy.

After being axed, it came back to the BBC in 2016.

The series sees teams of roboteers, both amateur and professional, battle their home-constructed robots against each other in an arena.

Earlier series included assault and trial courses for competing robots.

I have to admit I didn't get round to watching the last series.

BigSister 17-03-2018 10:05 PM

sad to see it go I thought it was a good revival and kept to the original format while adding intresting new formats like the 10 robot battle
