As if she's left again for good though. I swear it was always marketed as a break until Jessie and Shane went on This Morning and were like um yeah we were axed.

EspeonBB 16-10-2016 05:05 PM

Weren't Kat & Alfie meant to have a spin off show as well? What happened to that

Ashley. 16-10-2016 05:08 PM

I don't know but apparently Kat's supposed to die in it

Cal. 16-10-2016 05:15 PM

I do think that due to SOC's style we might see Les and Pam move back to Walford in a year or so when his era is underway. I'm not sure but he definitely likes the characters considering he's made them the focus since he's taken over until their departure and they do fit his era well. Maybe he thinks the show at present is not right for them.

Sneaky peak at Ben's Grindr storyline?

Daniel-X 16-10-2016 05:21 PM

Kat was kinda tragic in her second stint (I never saw any of her first but judging from a few I've seen clips she seemed great). Jessie is a fantastic actress though.

EE was the best when Deidrick Santer had it (from what I've seen I pretty much started watching from when his era began). It's been either mediocre or terrible since.

Twice is embarrassing.

I thought DTC was fantastic until that summer where everyone thought Mick ****ed Raine Cross when it was Ian.

Rob! 16-10-2016 05:30 PM

In retrospect DTC'a era was really hit and miss and was full of big attention grabbing stories that didn't really have all that much substance, or in a lot of cases, even a ending to them.

Ashley. 16-10-2016 05:32 PM

Carol's cancer was probably the only story he, for the most part, got right.

Firewire 16-10-2016 05:33 PM

DTC had some great stories but certain aspects were really poor

He's a sensationalist after all

It was basically a rehash of Santer's era... But not as good.

Stacey's psychosis was amazing

Daniel-X 16-10-2016 05:33 PM

DTCs era was terrible and I'm not even bothered about admitting it. Who Killed Lucy and the aftermath of Psycho Bobby was painful to watch.

Thanks babe for jigging my memory, that was great.

Cal. 16-10-2016 05:37 PM

Carol's cancer, Stacey's psychosis, Jane's return and rejuvenating Shirley from glorified extra to major character are DTC's strong points. I'd say bringing back Kathy also - not because her return was good beyond her first appearance in the live episode but because he ended that whole will she/won't she return saga among fans.

Who Killed Lucy?, Shirley being Mick's mum and Phil's shooting/never ending wedding day to Sharon were his low points. (And all were rehashes of greatest hits with Who Killed Archie, Kat being Zoe's mum and Who Shot Phil that he said he wanted to avoid)

Firewire 16-10-2016 05:39 PM

Linda's rape was great, too. Shabnam's stillborn story was also really good, but the way Kush was used wasn't very good.

I also loved evil Abi and the introduction of Carmel

Ashley. 16-10-2016 05:39 PM

I sort of think DTC would have stayed longer if Who Killed Lucy was a success. He made a joke out of the storyline by trying to turn Bobby into some sort of up and coming psychopath rather than an innocent child who accidentally killed his sister.

Cal. 16-10-2016 05:40 PM

Mess I forgot both of those. Linda's rape was amazing at first but another story line dragged out unnecessarily and sensationalised with the addition of Dean being Mick's brother. Shabnam's stillbirth was perhaps my favourite actually.

Not you finally seeing sense :clap1:

Cal. 16-10-2016 05:42 PM

I have a feeling Whitney was DTC's first choice at Lucy's killer and I'm not sure whether I wished he'd stuck with her or I'm glad he changed to Bobby. Having it be the child felt like such a cop out though. I remember when people predicted Ben would be Archie's killer as a joke and then 5 years down the line the 'joke' actually came true when it was Bobby who killed Lucy.

Firewire 16-10-2016 05:43 PM

Denise should've killed ha!

Evil D era is needed
