Stoppage too soon.

The ref is a boxing ref and didn't realise fighters like Conor do get in 'tussles' like that.

I have seen Conor in predicaments like that before. It doesn't necessarily mean Conor was finished.

But...

It was a boxing match.
The ref has to treat it as such.Conor didn't have the stamina for it.Floyd was pretty much toying with him.

Could say I saw high lights, but there was none, lovely money for a joke of a fight.

just watched it. mcgregor put too much energy into it and was burned out. I never watch boxing or McGregor but I'm surprised by how good he is, especially when that's not technically his profession. To put up a fight against one of the best boxers ever, that's a huge feat in my opinion

He's 40 years old, 50-0 and cashed out on every payday possible almost. He doesn't have much reason to fight again tbf.

Brother Leon 27-08-2017 03:23 PM

Conor done about as well as he could, but Floyd really could have ended it anytime he wanted after the 5th round or so, so reaching the 10th round doesn't mean much to me. I'm more impressed that he manages to hit Mayweather a fair bit..although Floyd didn't really feel any of it after the first two rounds.

I just read that he landed 111 punches on Floyd, about 30 more than Pacciou landed and he throw an almost identical amount over all but did 3 rounds less, that's good going

George Foreman :hee:

“I was awfully surprised because he was able to hit Mayweather with punches like no one has done,” Foreman told Omnisport via Yahoo.

“He didn’t put a lot of shoulder into him, just laid those hands on the right spot. Did an excellent job. “I’m shocked. I’m still shocked. He frustrated Mayweather, who had to turn into a George Foreman/Mike Tyson-type fighter. “The only thing that got him was fatigue. Going 12 rounds is a hard thing to do in boxing.”

“He doesn’t have anything else to prove. He fought Mayweather and he couldn’t use anything of his professional skills”He had to drop down a level. That’s like saying, you can beat me but I can’t fight. So why come back again?

“He can draw a crowd. He doesn’t need boxing. Boxing may need McGregor.”
