Think you're massively overreacting (again) to today's game, Adam. City have the best attacking players in the league, any team going down to 10 so early on while already behind and away from home would find it very difficult. 11 v 11 we were very unlucky not to be ahead and on another day we finish the chances we created, and the Mane red card could have gone either way. It's a 50/50 challenge, Ederson is outside his box, Ederson dips his head into the challenge, and if Mane wins that ball he scores, any attacking player is going to go for it, and if Ederson doesn't dip his head into the challenge then there is no debate about a red card at all.

Just putting today down as a one off really. When we had 11 on the pitch we created just as much as City did and it was only a matter of time until we scored, Otamendi was getting ripped apart every time we went near him. Hopefully we appeal the red card but either way at least Mane can play the CL games and one of the 3 he'll be suspended for is league cup which he'd have been rested in anyway.

We got took to school today. But it's good experience for our young players, it's how they react to a good hiding that'll determine if we can cut the mustard up at the top end with the big boys.

Not many teams can come to Goodison and do that to us, Spurs proving that they'll be challenging for the title again this season.

Good game this between Stoke and man U

Poor De Gea. Save of the Season so far only for the imbeciles in front of him to let him down from the corner.

It reminded me of Toni Schumacher and Patrick Battiston in 1982, in reverse.

Hate that City signed Jesus and I have to hate him..

:)

We were crap again. Won 4-0 though so can't complain.

Shaun 17-09-2017 06:08 PM

A perfectly acceptable gameweek for once (if you'd offered me a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge at the start of the season, I'd have bitten your hand off)

Imagine Allardyce going from Palace to IAC

I hear some Liverpool fans want Klopp to leave, but the only mistakes he has made is not fixing the defence problems at Liverpool, and not taking the big money offer from Barcelona, and some of them are saying that they want Rafa Benitez to return, and as much as Rafa loves Liverpool, he won't return, there is no way he will take a big risk like that because it could ruin his legacy at the club, and if you sacked Klopp next week, you will not get champions league football next year,

Locke. 20-09-2017 11:32 PM

No smart fans want Klopp to go, just the idiots.

Denver 20-09-2017 11:35 PM

Since January we have gone backwards and are continuing to go backwards

We have lost 5 league games since January 1.

Backwards is relative, too. Is it backwards compared to how we were in Brendan's final 18 months? No, it's progress from that. It's progress from Dalglish's stint, and progress from Hodgson's. The only thing it is backwards from is the form we were in for the first half of last season, under Klopp. Support us during poor stints as well as the good form or don't support us at all.

I know it's not premier league, but I just have to say, this Sheffield derby is a fantastic game.

There is a football league thread

Good win yesterday despite doing our very best to turn it into a draw. Important game midweek in Russia, would be great to get a win there and then pick up the usual 3 points against Newcastle ahead of the Utd game.

GiRTh 25-09-2017 09:18 PM

Great win against a team that always give us problems

Xhaka had a stinker (again) . Guy needs far too much time on the ball for the premiership. Its a bit concerning when you see him giving the ball away while under little pressure. Elneny wasn't much better but it was his first game of the season. Frankly West Brom could have been at least 2-1 at halftime. I dont know how we got so many midfielders but still cant get the balance right.

OK onto the Europa this Thursday and Brighton on Sunday - our only home premiership game of the Europe phase.

Shaun 25-09-2017 09:24 PM

Thank god Ramsey's having his half of the season where he actually tries, to make up for them two

GiRTh 25-09-2017 09:33 PM

Everyone else was quite solid except those two. Elneny has an excuse in it being his first game but Xhaka is impressing me less and less each week.

Shaun 25-09-2017 09:35 PM

Yeah the crowd urging him to shoot everytime he touches the ball isn't helping either, so many wasted attacks because of him (admittedly I can only recall 3 such instances tonight, but still )

GiRTh 25-09-2017 09:42 PM

Xhaka gave the ball away a load of times when under little pressure. He had me out of my seat shouting at the TV. Cant see how he can play like that in Premiership

Alf 01-10-2017 02:35 PM

Everton are absolutely rubbish.

What have you done to us Koeman?

Alf 01-10-2017 02:38 PM

Goodison Park was a fortress until Koeman got his hands on the team. Now we're second best at that ground all the time.

Shaun 01-10-2017 03:03 PM

Were Everton ever good though
