No one's ever been ejected for blatant ageism either. And yet it's ALLLLL over the house.

NO she didn't why are people adding words she AND Wayne said 'That's disgusting' just sayin':fist: so nothing is CLEAR ,she doesn't like public displays and neither do a lot of people.

what people should realise by now is that Ann says what she does because she believes in it with conviction. She was asked in the house about her views on gay marriage and also about what she thought of homosexuality in general. She gave very clear answers to both. She said she believed in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a women, but everything else was fine in the PRIVACY of their own homes . Everyone who saw that episode completely understood what she meant and where she was coming from, from her religious background. Nothing has changed from that statement that she made

She accepts Wayne more due to her speech about the house being more of an age issue.

Ann still doesn't agree with Wayne's lifestyle but then again she's not lived any sort of sexual life so she doesn't have a leg to stand on when judging people on their sexuality.

I'll give you a question right back, if Ann was invited to a gay wedding do you think she should HAVE to attend?

WTF is the world coming to seriously?

This constant trying to force people to change their views is so sickening.

Well firstly.Complaining about homophobia while adding a racist slur in the op isn’t a good start.

Ann’s closest ally in there is a lesbian,She has a decent relationship with Wayne too.She doesn’t dislike them because of their sexuality.
Maybe she just doesn’t want it thrust in her face?
She never said ‘urgh two men disgusting’ either. As has been said she doesn’t like seeing or hearing PDA’s from anyone. She also left the room when people were disgussing kids.
Is she kidophobic too?
Her views on the sanctity of marriage are religious. She never said that nobody should be allowed to be gay.
Many people don’t like watching PDA’s including me.Nothing wrong with that.
Plus as has been said Shane said that for a reaction,Got one and then moaned in the garden to make Ann look bad.He obvs sees her as competition.

I'm suddenly reminded of why I end up giving up on this forum every year, it's ridiculous the hysteria on here.

Let me try to explain from a grown ups point of view:

We would often try to wind my mother up by talking about sex and she'll scream at us "that is disgusting", we laugh at her and that's the end of the matter.

That's the way she was brought up, full stop, I don't expect her to change and neither should I. Considering I've never even seen my Mam and Dad holding hands and I know they're not comfortable with people hugging, kissing, touching etc. in public I simply wouldn't subject them to it.

That's the way they feel. I'm not going change their views and I don't want to.

Some people need to grow up and stop getting so stressed out in life because others have different views to them.

It's really doing no good for the LGBTQ cause to be constantly hysterical.

Completely agree with this. Surprised, that has been allowed to stay to be honest, it certainly wouldn't had it been any other racial slur

Niamh. 23-01-2018 02:13 PM

I actually totally missed that ^ Why didn't either of you report it instead of complaining that it hasn't been removed :nono:

Wasn't complaining it hadn't been removed Niamh, simply commenting that I was surprised it hadn't been and NM was simply saying that a racially aggravated statement was not particularly helpful when opening a thread about homophobia.

You said you were surprised that it had been allowed to stay, that kind of implies that we looked at it and said "nah that's grand, that can stay". If you had reported it and it was still there than maybe you'd have a point, nobody reported it though and I never saw it :oh:

I've never reported a post i don't think Niamh and in all honesty I only noticed it when NM mentioned it too but was surprised it had managed to stay all that time and not been removed or commented on by anyone else - any other slur would have been jumped all over by people. I wasn't implying anything, least of all that mods had ignored it. Jeez, feel like I'm in school being told off here

I'm sorry, it's just annoying when people complain that we ignore stuff or allow things to stay when they've not even reported it in the first place (not saying you were saying that just in general because it does happen alot)

Livia 23-01-2018 02:33 PM

Gonna need you two to shake hands now.
