Loved tonights episode!!

Oliver_W 16-02-2020 08:59 PM

Yeah man, tonight's was probably the best since Jodie and Chibnall started

Marsh. 16-02-2020 09:09 PM

Really good episode.

The cyber stuff doesn't make a lot of sense, but the episode was well made and had tension. Oh how I've missed it.

Headie 16-02-2020 09:14 PM

WHERE is Ruth??? These writers are really trying me by ignoring her existence after ha breakout ep

That Cyberman was ****ing terrifying. It reminded me of a sort of metal Michael Myers, just storming around and causing havoc. The last moment of him saying what he did to his children, I’m frankly stunned made it in but I’m delighted it did.

Scarlett. 16-02-2020 09:26 PM

This season overall has been really solid so far

Greg! 16-02-2020 09:34 PM

Shook to the core! First half I thought it was a decent filler episode but then the massive twist happened! Ruth tease (btw where is our queen? Hope she returns in the finale)

Firewire 16-02-2020 09:56 PM

Doctor Ruth is missed!

Oliver_W 16-02-2020 10:25 PM

Ruth is better than Jodie, I'd be quite happy for them to swap.

Greg! 16-02-2020 11:16 PM

Omg calling it now, Ruth will pop up at the end of the next ep as part of the cliffhanger. You heard it here first luvs!

It was a better episode than most of them this season imo.

I still feel like Chibnall's writing is poor for the show though (well his headwriting skills to be exact) but thankfully the visual effects and the acting from Jodie Whittaker and the Cyberman carried the episode off better than some weeks episodes.

At least the show has finally decided to introduce a storyline that might go past the wafer thin line.

Greg! 23-02-2020 09:08 PM

That was soooo good I'm shook. The Battle of Rancid Alan Colon is shaking!

Marsh. 23-02-2020 09:10 PM

Meh. The intrigue is still only in the "moments" of reveals and not so much in the story.

The countryside side plot setting up the Cyberman, predictable and derivative.

I like it. It's just so many of these ideas have been done not that long ago by Steven Moffatt.

Headie 23-02-2020 11:10 PM

Right WHERE is Ruth we're gonna have problems in a minute

That was more Master/Missy than Cybermen though tbf. The "pain...pain..." thing was amazing but other than that they were just background threat.

Classic Cybermen, Peter Capaldi, Missy, John Simm... much better than tonight's. :nono:

Someone had their eyes closed tonight then. An array of Cybermen including a new classic looking model, the master and an incredible performance from our reigning Doctor.
The Cybermen were crap in World Enough and Time.

The flashback idea would've worked better imo if they'd been using it as a B-Plot throughout the season, the whole arc feels a little rushed imo because Chibnall thought that it was a better idea to do a load of historical and environmental episodes instead. So not a lot of time has been dedicated to the Cyberman in the present timeline let alone in the flashbacks.

I am liking the actor's performance as the Cyberman though, he can join Jodie Whittaker in actually delivering a more lively performance.

Marsh. 24-02-2020 09:02 AM

No no Mock! :nono:

We spent too much of this episode never mind the season watching a ginger baby grow up. :omgno:

But a good Cyberman story is surely more than "LOTS of Cybermen shooting stuff"? :hmph:

As for the performances, I'll just say I disagree. :hehe:
