So apparently if there were a general election tomorrow .. it would very close with the Tories still slightly ahead .. even after all their failures and scandals.

Given that the current government and the current state of the country can’t possibly get any worse ( plus Covid isn’t even regarded as a minor threat ) then kinda it suggests that the Tories will win the next general election.

Literally every projection currently shows Labour being 20 odd seats short of an overall majority, where are you getting that information from? :joker:

If Sunak had come out and said "yes we have fckd up but we will accept that and try better" he would have been lauded

to come out pretending his 5 failed pledges have any relevance is a disgrace

They have Burnham in third/fourth place. That guy brings shame on Evertonian's.

The youngsters don't even know who Chuck Berry was or how many genders there are and I bet none of them have seen a Laurel and Hardy film.

I generally don't judge people's perception on politics based on their knowledge of media older than their grandparents.

(though agreed on the gender BS)

Tell me you don't know who Chuck Berry is or that you've never watched a Laurel and Hardy film without telling me you don't know who Chuck Berry is and have never watched a Laural and Hardy film

The thing is Oliver. Chuck Berry was at his peak 20 years before I was born and Laurel and Hardy was in their prime 40/50 years before I was born. But I still grew up with them.

History came easy, I loved history. The youngsters today seem to detest it. They see themselves superior to the teenage boys that sacrificed their lives so that these ungrateful buggers can have freedom that they'd happily give away to tyrants just so they can look virtuous.

They couldn't care less who Chuck Berry is or who Laurel and Hardy is. Because that's their attitude.

Good lad, they paved the way for the comedy that we all enjoyed since.

You don't need to watch them if you don't want, but be aware of who they are and what they did.

Like Chuck Berry, he influenced the music in the second half of the 20th century more than anyone. He was the poet and probably the sound of rock n roll. He influenced the British invasion of The Beatles and The Stones ect and they influenced the next.

These youngsters these days think they know it all. Is all they know is how to say "I'm anti-facist" "I love dogs and cats" "I'm protecting the environment"

It's all about them taking the praise and giving nothing.

Blondie, Queen, Guns N Roses, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Monty Python, and Carry On all pre-dated me by various amounts of time, and I grew up with all of them

And that's why you're a good lad, who isn't sucked in to the bullish!t.

A nightmare for the Cons.

Labour needs to do a bit more but I'd settle for a hung parliament with them as largest Party.

Surprised the Lib Dems have done as well as they have.

Well done to the Green party too.

Really interesting night and then day today.
Now I'll get some sleep tonight.
