Here's hoping he could do okay. Although the UK is NEVER now anywhere near being a leading favourite in Eurovision generally or in the betting particularly, because of the past issues of political not liking of the UK image now internationally. Olly will give his all and do his best, as indeed all the performers on the night will. No one can do more than that. So good luck to them all. |

Enjoy your week and Eurovision Vanessa. |
Just my opinion, but I think Olly is a silly choice.
He'll probably finish last. No change there though. :p |

In a perfect world I would say he’s the PERFECT choice as he’s loved the Eurovision Song contest all his life … Sadly due to politics and general pettiness his night will probably end in dreadful sadness. The poor guy suffers dreadfully from severe depression and has been medicated for around 15 years plus he suffers from extreme anxiety so he’s nauseous before each performance.. I read that after each concert he’s often to be found in the bathroom ( throwing up ) and has to be dragged back on stage for the encore !! Now he’s intelligent enough to have known how this is all gonna play out so he deserves special praise for putting himself through this ordeal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
next year i'll take responsibility of the UK entry

Unlike Madonna's rimming incident in Brazil for example, where that imo went further than what Olly is doing on Eurovision. |

But it isn't fair that Olly is getting pulled up for a sexual routine by some people, yet Slovenia is getting a free pass. Imo I support both acts not being overly sanitised in that particular area. And Ireland I'm with you on Nicky, that's a fascinating performance imo. |

Yeah he’s a clever guy and a Eurovision obsessive so he will know that the song or the singer has little bearing on the outcome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I must say ... he's painfully boring & predictable with the usual porno sexual behaviour. He's playing the Sam Smith Lil Nas game. But publicity bad or good is still an accomplishment in Olly's book no doubt . As for other comments mentioning if it would be different with women & topless men, people have criticised over sexualised female performers aswell :idc: . I'm pretty sure Madonna gets called out , aswell as people like Ice Spice etc. People are irritated & tired by how the music industry pushes the whole ' sex sells' theme, when surely it should be more on talent & their merit. |

At least we're not sending him out with bare bones staging, like we've done to some of our entries in other years. Plus we have all been complaining about the Entertainment Industry being overly sanitised/the Mary Whitehouse era/too soft in it's presentation, yet Eurovision this year does have the UK and Ireland (two countries that I never thought that I'd ever say this about) are in different ways trying to bring a bit of an edge to their performances, and we've got some people calling them out for it. And personally I hope that Slovenia keep avoiding detection from the masses on this front tbh, as imo I am sick to death of what I personally call the CBBC era of the Entertainment Industry. Personally the UK, Ireland, nor Slovenia are my number 1 choice out of this year's Eurovision songs, but let's celebrate sexuality and Satanic performances again. |

I do think that this year is more sexually suggestive than ever before and the vast majority of the male prancers ( sorry dancers) were overtly feminine in looks and movements. I never thought I’d see a three hour program where Olly looks like a docker in comparison to the others Fantastic interview below ! https://youtu.be/RwBKaXMmsq4?si=IqMn1EAqJ8E9-NYV Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I 100% UNSURPRISINGLY agree with every word you've said there. I said earlier that most of the entries this year was about more who had the wildest and out of the ordinary staging . Nothing wrong with that at all . It's how the ESC has evolved from them all just standing there in frontbof a microphone. Maybe from the moaning of some I've seen in the media, it's more sbout Olly's sexuality.that criticism of him and his staging becomes morev evident. Thankfully I don't consider myself a prude or a homophobe. I think we've still some way to go on that, even in the UK. I like loads of the entries this year. The wild staging adds to the drama and performance of the songs too. Ireland could be a surprise actually this year. It's dark and right in your face with its staging. There are so many songs of the same beat, rock type this year that it could be one that's way out the ordinary that wins. I'll.just enjoy the whole thing and not moan about any kind of harmless suggestive content. Which was in a fair few. However Olly because it involves all men. Gets the criticism as you point out. That begs the question why as to only him and his staging which was devised by the team appointed to Eurovision not just by himself. Yes though, you've made a really strong post here Mock. Why people just cannot be more accepting I don't know. Good luck to Olly and all of them. Goodness knows what the voting will end up being on the night. That's always more mystified me as to the voting in Eurovision ,than a few minutes of harmless staging around the entries. |

You make an intriguing point there .. I was wondering why they didn’t choose a mix of a male / female dancers just to take the pressure off .. having just female dancers would also have been interesting .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
Unibet has the UK at 200/1 if anyone wants to wager a bet

The UK needs to send a credible artist.
As much as I like Olly I don't think the song and his voice are as good as the others. The uK has plenty of singing talent. But they never go to Eurovision. |

Sadly. There's always been though where top singers all through wouldn't either enter it. From the 60s and up to now. Wouldn't go near it with a bargepole. |
