Italian cry baby shouldn’t do boxing if she doesn’t want to get hit in the face

Imane is a woman and the faux outrage from the likes of JK and pals because they’re fuming there wasn’t a trans athlete competing to bully so they’ve settled for this mess is laughable.

Crayons for brains.

yup discriminate against a woman for looking different than other women, and for having a gender disorder, unlike other women

:idc:

she is perfectly eligible to compete in women's boxing, as she is a biologically born woman, but if you fight against her you shouldn't act like a complete crybaby like Ms Carini (and btw her nose looked fine, i've seen worse looking noses honestly)

Oliver_W 02-08-2024 08:41 AM

So is this person actually trans or what?

To Angela Carini although your dreams couldn’t come true today because of the
crazy agendas that are at play in our world at the moment, I would love to
offer you to fight on an MVP undercard, to show the world your talents on a fair
platform and not against a man.

Internet help this find her.

Again. Not a man

Cherie 02-08-2024 09:24 AM

I find it interesting that people who have never boxed are calling this lady a cry baby, she has fought for years and reached Olympic standard and I think we shouldn't dismiss her concerns for her safety but some people are, I would put it on a par with putting a fly weight against a heavy weight in boxing terms, there was a reason Imane Khelif was banned from the World Championships, she didn't dispute it either so we cannot just brush that aside, the IOCs policy of just accepting what is on your passport is flawed

It's a very complicated one because of various laws and quirks here though. This is someone who was born with ambiguous genitalia and incorrectly assigned female at birth (we don't like that, right?) in a country where being trans is not legal. They then went on to go through male puberty, and it has transpired that they are hormonally and biologically male. But their country doesn't allow that so their legal documentation will always state that they were born female.

There's an element of "having your cake and eating it too" here I suspect. You're arguing that this individual who was born with ambiguous genitalia but later clearly started to present physically as male and this has been confirmed chromosomally, is still female because that's what they were assigned in the hospital at birth, and this can't legally be changed. At the same time, it's argued that gender has nothing to do with sex assigned at birth. You have to pick? Which is it?

Oliver_W 02-08-2024 09:45 AM

I'm not going to say I'm "glad" someone has an intersex condition, but I am glad that it's not a cis woman who's being called a man and trans by basically the entire internet.

Beso 02-08-2024 09:55 AM

It takes a lot of balls to box in womens boxing these days. That italian was very brave.

…but isn’t that so much how it is…she’s a cis women with high levels of testosterone and none of this is her fault…she’s won convincingly yesterday but she’s also lost convincingly in previous Olympics to fellow cis women…so it’s not really clear atm if she has testosterone levels that would give her an advantage over any other cis woman…

It's worrying that most of the gay blokes in this thread clearly hate biological women and go out of their way to make it clear.. Your hate is noted. Your mothers and sisters must be so proud.

You’re so unnecessarily dramatic. There’s also straight guys in here that have defended a man actually beating his girlfriend.

Calm yourself down

I'm worried about non biological women being allowed to injure biological women while a chorus of gays cheer them on. Regarding a straight man beating his girlfriend... You're making that up, or show me where that happened and went unchallenged.

"Calm yourself down" is clearly meant to bait and so I'm ignoring it. You may have XY chromosomes, like the Algerian boxer, but you didn't get to tell me what to do.

Most but not all.

I agree biological women should only be contending in female sports. I personally believe there should be a third category for those wishing to compete.

A newly elected Reform MP said he was “deeply sorry” after it emerged he had spent a week in a young offenders institution nearly 20 years ago for assaulting a former girlfriend.

James McMurdock, who won the South Basildon and East Thurrock seat at the general election by just 98 votes from Labour, admitted the incident and said it had happened on a drunken night out.

The Daily Mail, which first revealed the details, said it had spoken to the victim’s mother, who said Mr McMurdock had “left marks” on her daughter’s body.

In a statement, Mr McMurdock said: “This is the biggest regret of my life and I wish I could go back and fix things.”

'Law breakers can't be law makers'
Reform returned five MPs at the general election. The most high-profile was Nigel Farage, who won in Clacton, but little was known about Mr McMurdock, who was described by his leader as a “paper candidate” who had joined the party only in May.

Rival parties said Mr McMurdock, 38, should have explained his past to the electorate before polling day.

Gavin Callaghan, the Labour leader of Basildon Borough Council, posted on X: “Law breakers can’t be law makers. This is a deeply disturbing story about our new MP in South Basildon and East Thurrock.

“If Reform UK knew about his criminal record before the election, why were they not honest about this with the public?”

According to the Daily Mail, Mr McMurdock pleaded guilty to one count of assault at Chelmsford Crown Court. He was working as a barman at the time.

In the report, the woman’s mother said there was “no way he should be an MP”.

Reform told the newspaper it was aware of the conviction but “believe strongly that people can change their lives”.

I know you and glen are desperate for it to be more for some perverse reason but that is what happened

and frankly using an assault like this to try and score points in your imaginary culture war is just incredibly petty - have you both not better things to do with your day?

Let’s make a separate category for basketball for all the players taller than everyone else because they have a natural, built in ‘advantage’

On that basis, with your counter, in all sports men and women should compete together, regardless of men’s natural, in-built advantage.

No, because that makes no sense. Let's sort it out by chromosomes, the scientific way.

A fast moving thread, maybe I missed the response to this?

Liam- 02-08-2024 10:43 AM

Sports are already split up into men and women, now people want certain cis women disqualified and segregated for biological conditions they can’t help, let’s split everything up even further, seeing as it can’t be fair for people to race against people faster than them, because they’re at a disadvantage, people shouldn’t have to play basketball against people taller than them, because they’re at a disadvantage

The goalposts being moved so that less talented athletes can whine and complain when they’re up against someone better than them and just claim someone is a secret man in a dress, it’s ridiculous
