This club is ludicrous. Funny thing is those guys who say they can post about other things on the forum have been asking BB related questions. I had to larf. Sorry guys we wont answer your BB questions if you make such a big deal of not watching the show and also telling us that you're making such a big deal of not watching the show.
What a lot of people aren't grasping about me personally not watching anymore, is that for the last fortnight before Bex was evicted, she was the sole reason I was watching.

Nobody left in the show currently, interests me enough for me to want to watch it, so what reason would I have to watch it? Bex's eviction was the final straw in all the interesting housemates [in my opinion] being evicted, so I therefore have no other reason to watch it.

Is that a ludicrous reason to no longer watch? Because I'd say that watching a show that you have no longer have any interest in, is more ludicrous, no?
Fair point but why the club? Especially when it inspires more bad than good [EG Andywhatshisname with his amazingly annoying, over the top ''kiss my ass sweet cheeks uh hu uh hu uh hu yayaya lolz'' posts].

You can not watch Big Brother all you like, but a club for not watching it seems a bit daft. How about if I set up a ''Big brother viewers'' club?
Then knock yourself out, I'd have no desire to go in there and call your club pathetic or insult the people in it. If you and millions of others still find interest in the show, then who am I to judge and insult you? I'm not.

As for the club, I think it's more of a statement that for the last 7 weeks, the public have evicted entertaining housemates after entertaining housemates and we are now left with dull, uninteresting housemates. Plus, if you notice, it's not the members of the club who are provoking or 'inspiring' bad on the forum, it's those who insist on coming in and shouting their mouth off, those spending their time in this 'pathetic club' purely, IMO to cause arguments because that is exactly what they have done, yet us 'pathetic ones in this pathetic club' have just defended and reitirated our reasons for switching off, yet even after 5 attempts, some still aren't grasping it.
you guys were asking for it lol you know what big brother forums are like

you know its not a statement about the past few weeks. thats just a reason you took upon yourself to make up. most people just jumped to irrational conclusions about not watching the show and i bet the laptop Im writting on most have already started watching again. their the type of people i have a problem with , not you, who appears to be a very diplomatic, upstanding debater mature enough to join a bitchy, whingy club just to let people know their not watching it again
Well then that says more about those members who insist on doing that, not us, or me.

I don't know what Shaun's intentions were for the club, but I know I never joined as part of a tantrum or because I was such a loyal Bex fan. My reasoning for joining [whether you wish to believe or not] was because I no longer have interest in it, and yeah I could have switched off quietly and not made a fuss, but it was more of a statement on my part, to show that due to the public's insade [IMO of course] voting, they are losing viewers, because this is the first time I've ever switched off.
almost near perfect performance their apart from the fact that viewer ratings have gone UP this week.

i just think the personal statement thing is jumping the shark while clutching a straw. theirs no reason to join a club IMO

in fact, my argument is probably not even with you, you just happen to be part of the club

no, my argument is with them people who joined then obviously would start watching a week later again
Perfect performance? Who's performing? Why ask a question if you are just going to be really condesending with your replies?

Well then that's fair enough if your argument isn't aimed at me, but you quoted me and asked me a question.

Yes she has left and i can understand that if you dont want to watch a show it is your choice. However to make a big deal about it on a forum. What is that going to achieve. Well This.

Also I do find that making a fan club of this Was pathetic.
It didn't have to be a big deal at all, but you and others marching in calling it pathetic, that's insulting, so you are turning it into a big deal, not us in the club, we aren't going into every thread saying "i'm not watching no more", "it's boring now" etc etc, so to call a club pathetic after some of the things you've said in here, pot kettle black!

its actualy quiet comical to watch defense patterns in this thread, like that one just their

Well it's obviously you are only here for some tea time comedy so I won't bother replying to you then, and believe me, I wouldn't take somebody disagreeing with me about being in a Big Brother club serious, but I will argue and debate things I disagree with, after all we are on a forum and that is what we are here for.

Being a BB is like being a football fan. I'm prepared to watch a bad game simply because I'm a fan. But this years has been good. For you to say you're swithcing off only slightly after half way tells me you're not much of a fan really are you.

Also, to stop watching cuz of frigging Bex is not something I'd like to admit. She was holding the show back.

Quote:

And to be fair, we didn't really made a 'big deal', it's one thread, in her forum, yet you and others coming in here calling it pathetic, is turning it into a big deal. I've also explained my reasoning below for actually joining the club, not switching off.
Yes it is a big deal. I was going to stop watching last year cuz of the blatant manipulation to keep Charley in ,but I would have just stopped watching. To make a club is actually a kind of protest. To try and get people behind you is a lot more that just not watching

Quote:

Plus, isn't it a slight contradiction that you say as a forum member you have the right to laugh at this club and all it stands for, so using that logic, as a forum member, am I not allowed to join the club then? As a forum member, is Shaun not allowed to create this club?
I have the right to laugh if someone makes a stupid post. This whole thread is one big long stupid post.

Even the Bex fans aren't with you. Even they are saying the show is still OK now she's gone.

Oh it's really not, I'm a true Liverpool fan and I wouldn't put that on the same level as Big Brother. I guess in comparison to you then GiRTh, no, I am not a 'true BB fan', common sense prevails with me and watching something I have no interest in is a big no no for me.

Nobody is protesting, it's hardly pinned in the BB9 forum, it's one thread in Rebecca's forum. Plus, I did say I joined as a kinda statement, as the public voting IMO this year has been insane, as this is a forum of many opinions and personalities, if I wish to do that then I'm more than entitled to. Despite me thinking it's hillarious and kinda worrying that being such a loyal BB fan to you means watching even when you don't have interest in it, I weren't [untill now] coming out with it and being disrespectful about it to you.

And I won't even respond to your final point, cause it's a further contradiction and you know it.

Shaun 31-07-2008 06:34 PM

As I've said before, this thread wasn't intended to cause arguments.

The bottom line is - we don't watch Big Brother any more. This is a 'club' for people who agreed with me. If you disagree, fair enough. Good for you.

Any need to call us all pathetic? No.

Now do one.

rayheartbliss 31-07-2008 06:36 PM

you'll never be READY!

BB is the kind of show where the public are bound, at some point, to lose their faves. Does that mean we all switch off when that happens. Surely not. Especially when the final straw is Bex leaving. You dont have to be as big a fan as me but to switch off cuz a stupid girl who acts like a spiteful child has gone Speaks volumes. You say its not that its the voing, but thats how it is every year. Why protest so much this time round?

To start a club like this is a kind protest. No matter what your reason for joining this club is a bit daft. Admit it.

Are you coveniently missing the numerous posts where I stated "I am not not watching because Bex is no longer there" ... it is because Bex leaving was the final straw in a string of entertaining and interesting housemates leaving, and I no longer have any interest in it ... can you not see that? Seriously, you're clearly intelligent, so can you not see that? I think you know exactly that, but you are clutching at straws.

And I'm not remotely protesting, if that was the case then I'd be in other threads reitirating my point but I've not done that once other than in this thread, that you and others insist on coming in and causing unnecesary arguments. And why am I not watching this time around? Because in every other series, there have always been housemates in there which provoked enough interest from me, now however, there really isn't.

I don't mean to sound horrible because I'm not, but has it yet sunk in? Are you yet to grasp it? Because I've responded and given you valid reasons as to why I'm no longer watching, which you responded to and it seemed you realised, then it's almost as though you conveniently forgot it all? Can you never just say 'fair enough, it's your perogative and entitlement to no longer watch' blah blah blah rather than keep going on about things I've already answered.

And no, I don't think joining this club was 'a bit daft' so I won't admit. Do you not think asking me that was a bit of a daft thing to say? You know considering I've joined and defended the club for the last hour, did any part of you expect me to admit that joining this club I've spent an hour defending was daft? :conf:
