It really is game over for BB unless something drastic happens and soon. |
I hate to say it but BB has collapsed. Only a few years ago, BB was averaging around five million viewers per series. Now, BB10 is likely to only average out at around two million, a 60% drop on the figures of BB5-BB7.
Next year there will be no BB on Channel 4. If anything, it will be moved over to E4 and it might only get a million viewers on average during the summer. Either that, or there won't be one at all. Nothing can redeem the show now, too many people have given up on it. |
Last nights ratings 2.2m
200,000 up from Monday but still awful.... big mistake C4 have made to not bring LF back. |
Slightly better but not enough. It seems it's on its way to get better now, I think we reached the lowest point on sunday.

2.2m .... hopefully a sign of things to come. Not great, but better. Now the series has got going and tonight is nominations then it should grow a bit, maybe the eviction will just scrape past 3m. I think its just a case of getting used to the 'new' Big Brother. |
Tonight will be less than last night.
It's partially up against an England World Cup qualifier for about 15mins. |

On the positive side its an increase and hopefully it could set the trend
On the negative side its just still not good enough and something needs to be done in the next week to turn the series around why viewers can still be persuaded to watch the series as its only just started Live feed wont make a major difference now, there needs to be something huge to happen otherwise this series is going to fail |

However Embarassing Bodies got over 3m 2 weeks ago, is it still on? will it give BB a boost? Never thought i would think that Embarassing bodies will give BB a boost  |
There seems to be some positivity around the series from people are giving it a go so hopefully tonight the word of mouth will help increase the ratings and the show also has a strong lead
Also its nominations tonight, so if they advertise it well and don't announce the results on BBLB today then I can see tonight doing around 2.5million |

Its only a qualifier though, they only usually do okish

2.2mil is still better than Monday, still not really any good but it's better than I expected at least.
(Was an amazing show last night though) |

We'll see tomorrow... I bet it'll be lower than 2.2m |

When its the actual world cup it gets about double that |

But nearly 8 million viewers is still good generally, and will effect other channels' ratings. You should have elaborated in your previous post if you were just comparing it to the World Cup finals matches. |
All I'm saying is people aren't too fussed yet except the hardcore footie fans (which there are a lot of) so even though a lot will watch it won't feel like everyone is watching if that makes sense? Plus because its only a qualifier it will be made up mainly of men, and BB mainly of women so ... it will impact but not a lot. It'll probably get a similar figure to last night again, I think its found its level now.
|
Last night's viewing figure was once again record breaking - lowest ever for a Tuesday, against no significant competition, despite it being a (comparatively) decent show.

And i do believe that it will be sub 2m tonight because i do think that mainly men are watching this series, what ahve teh girls got? nothing, thats why they need good looking guys. And the match is going to take away quite a lot from BB, if it doesnt then i will be shocked. |
The newspapers aren't short of stories though, The Sun and Daily Star are the main two and they're still printing as much about BB as ever ... as is Heatworld
I think the problem is a combination of the staggered start, no typically fit men, boring/'seen it all before' launch, BB having its day as a main stream show (cult is the future if its to continue) and going hand in hand with cult is live streaming ... Best thing that could happen is for BB to either drop down to E4 or go to somewhere like Sky where most of the loyal fans will follow ... it would be getting about half its ratings now and being seen as a success, it would be out of the spot light (moreso on E4, Sky1 is seen as a mainstream channel oddly enough) and no comparisons to what it used to get. It just needs a fresh start. |

The Sun used to have pages and pages of Big Brother stuff before in a special section. Recently I've seen it downgraded to 2 pages. The Times used to write blogs about the show every single day, even during BB9. Now there's been no blog since launch night. The Daily Star had nomination results as the main headline on their front page last year. Now it's a little section of the left of their front page. It's nowhere near getting the publicity it has been in the past, even compared to last year. Heat Magazine is down as well for sure. It's done very few updates compared to before. I remember very clearly that Heat used to do so many updates about BB - they were the first magazine to really capitalise on BB. Even during BB8 and BB9 they did their fair amount of news updates. But BB10 has been poor in comparison. |

I remember in BB9 when I was on Hoilday in Spain they sold the Daily Star over there and It always Had BB On its front page and I relied so much on it to give me the news of what was happening, if it wasnt for that I wouldnt of known luke was evicted... But now all the newspapers cant be arsed writing about BB10 Why? No Live Feed |
