I was talking about X Factor stars in general, some have worked harder than others.

Jake. 20-02-2014 02:57 PM

Just woken up D:

Natalie. 20-02-2014 03:03 PM

Who mentioned Leona?

"Rock" stars and band members who get where they are now by themselves tend to hate all of these talent shows, it's not my opinion it's a fact.

Jake. 20-02-2014 03:23 PM

Or yeah, what Drew said

Natalie. 20-02-2014 03:31 PM

Good thanks Jake :D

Jake. 20-02-2014 03:32 PM

Ah good stuff :D

MeMyselfAndI 20-02-2014 03:48 PM

These new X Factor pop stars literally have it handed on a plate whilst bands possibly go years doing small gigs and what not just to make themselves known... so then when they do end up commenting on their views of pop music and what not, it can come across as arrogant to some, whilst I see it as them standing for what they've done/a good work ethic...

and put more work into becoming who they are and to become successful.

------------------------------

Neither of you or the Arctic Monkeys know how hard others work
Lol at being taking being rude & having a superior complex as a gesture for appreciation & having a good work ethic. Next your be telling me that throwing the mic on the floor for someone else to pick up symbolises compassion & gratitude

I'm going on about the fact you believe rock stars work harder than pop stars & other artists, not what rock stars think/their opinions

Well that's good because you don't either. If you're honestly telling me that turning up to an audition, singing live 8 times and having a pretty much guarenteed number 1 is harder work than touring small pubs, getting your name out there and eventually making it after people realise your potential then that's just wrong.

That's not saying that X Factor stars don't work hard AFTER, I never said that at all.

In terms of building a platform for themselves they do. Talent show contestants get it handed on a plate in comparison. I'm not doubting they do less work once they finally make it after the shows though.. Theres just a big difference between winning a TV show in a 3 month period and doing gigs, self promotion and all that over years. I enjoy X Factor and i couldn't care less anyway lol.

Jake. 20-02-2014 04:08 PM

And I don't even dislike X Factor, I liked Leona and was glad she won god knows how many years ago, it's just that the past couple of years have been a bit rubbish imo

Many XF acts like Leona were touring before XF & touring small pubs, playing underground & releasing albums they'd written that way. Just because they get a break from a TV show doesn't mean they're not hardworking

Well then Leona doesn't apply, in fact she was never mentioned in the first place. We were discussing those who literally audition and have it all served to them with a silver spoon.
