People are championing the team based system because it rewards the whole forum for anonymous donations. No elitism and no separate groups of users.

People don't want to donate money unless they have a big shiny badge on their name that says they do that.

All I'm asking for is a donation button, I'd happily donate (anonymously, don't see the point of making it public so you can brag about how much of a good samaritan you are). Don't need any perks or features or VIP sections, especially if you only care about keeping the forum going.

Quite a few people have said they would donate for nothing or even donate anonymously but there is nothing wrong with adding a few extra things for subscribers more so as a thanks than anything else.

This forum is like one of the best ones around, don't see why all of a sudden it needs enhancing to become 'bigger and better than ever before' (didn't you see what C5 did to BB when they tried to make it more current? :laugh:)

And I would/will donate REGARDLESS of whatever happens, I just don't want others to feel left out or me to feel like I'm a 'Very Important Person' just because I paid £1 extra than someone who just wants to use the forum for free for a bit of downtime from their lives.

Just put the extra features that are apparently in such popular demand and allow people to donate if they want to anonymously.

This is perfectly fine. No need for 'VIP sections' or special powers to view what people are doing on invisible mode.

You will not have a vip or whatever tag forced on you. You would just be able to use the 'premium features' (if we can even cal a coloured name or whatever that) if you chose to. People could still donate anonymously if they preferred

:shrug: I'd donate if there was a feature installed on the forum for us to do so in order to maintain running costs. This is my online home. I wouldn't be doing it for special credit or for some status symbol type thing, I'd do it because I want to continue posting here and the only reason I am able to continue posting here is because Mark sees fit to continue paying for it out of his own pocket with no thanks or contribution from any of us, he barely even posts here anymore.

Sure, I don't see why not if people are willing to pay but surely the benefits would have to be better to encourage people to want to invest actual money, I mean for a few quid more you could have netflix or lovefilm to entertain yourself.

Then again what does my opinion matter I would never pay.
