Netherlands: those who refused AstraZeneca vaccine will be offered a different vaccine instead, finally health minister De Jonge gave in to a petition ''60-65 no to astrazeneca''

it will either be Pfizer, Moderna or Janssen

If you say you’ve had a direct relative develop clots, you can probably request not to get AZ on those grounds.

[edit to add] pretty much all vaccination centres are carrying both AZ and Pfizer, since younger people aren’t supposed to get AZ, so they will have Pfizer doses available on site.

Not good. Taking my wife to Manchester to see him on Thursday. Apparently it's not looking likely he survive it. It's awful. I don't know him all that well I've seen him a few times but my wife's not too great obviously

Netherlands: study shows No 2nd AstraZeneca dose after nasty and serious side effects

health officials are still looking into if some vaccines can be combined in case some require a different vaccine (when having had nasty side effect from 1st dose AZ)

Nicky91 02-06-2021 11:51 AM

Netherlands: No Janssen/J&J for younger age groups

Janssen can (same as AstraZeneca) lead to blood clotting and low blood platelets

younger people can only get either Pfizer or Moderna

The UK has hit a "dangerous moment" in the pandemic, an expert has claimed, amid warnings that "vaccine-beating variants" will emerge in the future.

Dr David Nabarro, the World Health Organisation's special envoy on COVID-19, said that despite low infection levels, unlocking restrictions too quickly in the UK could create a further "spike" in infections.

He also issued a warning about variants, saying "vaccine-beating" forms of the virus will almost certainly emerge sooner or later.
