Should have won that but the refs didn't want to give a clear cut penalty

Even game between the two most consistent teams in the league. Possession was 51 - 49 to Liverpool

Man city may go on a ten game plus winning run like they always do but Liverpool and Arsenal are the most consistent teams in the league

We're finally seeing what Arteta is trying to do. Arsenal look more in control of games than thisy time last year.

Its taken some getting used to but we're finally seeing what Kai Havertz does. Im gonna eat humble pie and apologise for things said by me but I'm now seeing why he makes the team more solid. Rice is a stud. I'd pay West Ham 20 million more for him. Hes looking like a bargain

The game against Brighton last week was the best I've seen arsenal play under arteta and we follow with another controlled performance today. I'm optimistic for the new year.

We kept Brighton to.66xg for the game. No one does that to Brighton but at time we kind of stepped on the gas and went back to the 100 mile an hour football that we were playing last year. It was the best we played under Arteta

Top at Xmas

Looking at the xg charts its quite telling that Trent missed a 0.60xg chance but Liverpool's xg for the whole game was only 0.98. Shows they didn't have too many other good chances.

They aren’t playing ‘that’ beautiful football yet so wait until they REALLY click into gear

The exact same applies to Liverpool as well

i'm just happy it's a bit of a competition at the top of the league. It will be a lot more difficult for city to overcome 2 or 3 teams that are all playing well

2nd half was literally average. No one will remember it. Im not even sure both teams had a shot on target. Even Liverpool and Arsenal fans will tell you the 2nd half was nothing to write home about. Both teams, understandably, didn't want to risk losing.

The game on the whole was average. Only Salah's goal was a stand out moment.

It was also quite a snippy game. But of course, Arsenal and Liverpool players can do no wrong etc

bots 23-12-2023 09:11 PM

i thought there were a lot of mistakes in midfield, the ball was continuously given away cheaply. For me it was a game of mistakes rather than skill

It was a cagey game between the two best teams ATM.

When it became too open the other team shut it down., Top level professional sport at its finest.

It's funny, when Chelsea and Man Utd have really good seasons, they win PL titles. Arsenal and Liverpool however choke almost every season, even when at their best. I have no love for City, but it'll be hilarious if they pip both Liverpool and Arsenal, yet again, this season :joker:

Would rather Villa win they title, but it won't happen. Only out of Liverpool, City and Arsenal now. Spurs choked their decent start, as per.

Swan 23-12-2023 09:55 PM

It the last 20 years Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs have won 1 PL title between thm (and no one takes that 1 win from Liverpool seriously, bar Liverpool fans). Chelsea and Man Utd have won the PL title 10 times between them in that 20 year period.

Especially what Saka did to the Greek guy.

At least the Referee didn't send you down to ten men to stop you from winning the game, unlike what happened to us against Plymouth today.:fist:

Being genuinely serious though, I am amazed that Odegaard got away with that today.

You need to watch more of the Championship matches, they're nowadays more entertaining than the Premier League ones.

Interesting point

The point I was trying to make was that Arsenal have a great balance this year. They can turn the gas on and off when they need to. Control is the key word. Perhaps not dominating to the naked eye but controlling games. I think I've seen that in the last few weeks.

Arteta says he needs - A striker, a midfielder and two full backs. I think he's nailed it.

The trajectory of the team makes me optimistic.

I’m hoping Arsenal get Toney in January

Tbf this weekend (and this season in general) Spurs are holding on in there, and are even winning games when not at their best.

I wouldn't rule them out.

Agreed

My top three

Can’t decide between Arsenal and Liverpool but I’ll go with Spurs third and ManC fourth !!

Controversial

Richarlison is like a new player. It's amazing what a good man manager can do for a team
