High Rise. Loved this, it was weird and wonderful. With some great performances. I especially like the actor who played the doctor. So sexy and smoldering :douf::flutter:

Vanessa you should join our Classic movie club, you like your movies  we're doing Good Will Hunting atm

Breakdown - Starring Kirk Russell - a good old fashioned thriller.
A husband and wife are relocating and their car breaks down, a lorry driver pulls up behind them and offers the wife a lift to the nearest diner to call for a tow truck, however when hubby fixes the car by himself, he goes to the diner and his wife is nowhere to be seen and no-one has seen her......good cat and mouse thriller. 9/10

Concussion - Really enjoyable, love Will Smith (eventhough his accent in it did sound a little bit like Floki from Vikings every now and again) 7.5/10

RichardG 14-04-2016 09:32 AM

The Legend of Barney Thomson and Let Me In, both super duper would recommend

RichardG 15-04-2016 12:04 AM

We Are Monster - 0/10 painfully boring just some guy talking racist stuff to himself non stop for a whole hour and a half, sooooooooo miserable

Niamh. 15-04-2016 09:09 AM

Pump up the Volume (rewatch) - awww so much nostalgia attached to this film, I watched it with my daughter who's almost 16, she really enjoyed it too. There's some good messages in there for teenagers 7.5/10

"Into The Wild"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0758758/

A very thought provoking film, especially for anyone who has their misgivings about modern society and ever has the desire to just leave it all behind.

- 1 because it's based on a true story and there are a couple of elements that were obviously added just to add some drama that I don't feel were entirely necessary.

- 0.5 because the protagonist is slightly irritating. I think he's supposed to be pretentious and a little bit self-involved, that's a large part of the point in the end, however in the first half of the film he edges a little to vlose to whininess.

- 1 because Kristen Stewart has a minor role in it and Kristen Stewart is awful

+ 1 because I changed my mind... she's not in it for long and in the 10 minutes or so she's around, she shows more emotional range than in the entirity of the Twilight series.

Other than that a really solid watch, well written, well shot and well acted. 8.5/10

Eddie Vedder did the sound track for it :flutter:

Rewatch - Se7en - Love this movie, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey are fantastic in it, Brad Pitt isn't great in it but over all brilliant story and ending 9/10

Point Break (remake) - Ugh why did they touch such a good film, it didn't need to be remade and it was horrendous not a patch on the original 2/10

Wat's in the baaaaaaaxxx :(

RichardG 16-04-2016 09:28 PM

I watched Buried last night

Spoiler:

and omg the ending :bawling: I totally knew it was coming when the guy said he couldn't hear the people outside who thought they'd found him/was digging him up but it was still awful :bawling: usually I really want big films to have "unhappy" endings like this rather than the predictable happy ones they usually give us but in this specific one I reeeeaallly wanted him to be saved just because the thought of dying like that is awful :bawling:

:bawling:

:bawling:

Shaun 16-04-2016 09:40 PM

Se7en is probably Brad Pitt's best performance  bad Niamh :nono:

rubymoo 17-04-2016 08:25 PM

Skeleton Twins - Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader star as twins from a dysfunctional family, this is an indie/drama film and both leads were fab in their roles 8/10

Spoiler:

Loved Starships Nothings gonna stop us now lipsync :) Hader is particularly brilliant playing the part of a gay man (Milo) who meets up with his sister after a suicide attempt, but you soon realise that Wiig (Maggie) is living a very sad/unsatisfying life that leaves her suicidal too.

Deadpool - Had to switch it off. Like a bad sitcom script with a high special effects budget.

Gone Girl - Worth a watch but with an awful second half.

And miss out on movie classics like "Sliding doors" (2x the Paltrow 1/2 the fun) and Tony Starks annoying wife in Iron Man?

I wasn't overly impressed with Deadpool either, i think it was over hyped. I'm going to watch Gone Girl but i've heard quite a few bad reviews even though it got 80 something % on rotten tomatoes.

Yeah, that's what I mean, the way he delivered his lines sounded very amateurish or something

I would say one of his worst

I really liked Sliding Doors :hehe:

Calderyon 18-04-2016 11:20 AM

Olympus has Fallen (2013) - Liked it. Better than the other one made in the same year. Butler is badass. And itīs good to see Patrick Jane in a big part. 4/5

Vanessa 18-04-2016 04:54 PM

Going the distance. I really like Drew Barrymore and Justin Long
