No Joey
New Prisons will be built.

Mega Contracted

I disagree.
There's way too many people sent into prison who could be dealt with in other ways.
I totally disagree with you on that.

Lots of funding could be saved.

7 July 2024
Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has set out the first steps towards setting up a UK Border Security Command, which the government hopes will reduce small boat crossings in the English Channel.
Work to recruit an "exceptional leader" to head the body will begin on Monday, with the government preparing a bill to create counter-terror powers aimed at tackling organised immigration crime.

Mmmmm

I’m seeing rumours online suggesting that Labour’s first scandal maybe just around the corner… apparently involving a new, young MP

it's inevitable that there will be scandals and there always will be. Labour haven't been in charge when social media is as strong as it is. Also, the more mp's you have, the more trouble you will have. It's relatively easy to control a small opposition group that the media isn't really interested in

Good point about Labour in charge and social media

Could be interesting to see what now plays out

So councillors will be expected to work twice as long?

arista 09-07-2024 07:09 AM

Yes Councils need a full week
like the rest of us

joeysteele 09-07-2024 08:14 AM

Depends what's called a full week anymore.
Decades ago full time working was anything of 40/45 hours a week.

Now it's barely 30.

I don't see anything too difficult to re-arrange working procedures to 4 days instead of 5.
In fact the council in my area.
You can't get them past 1pm on a Friday.
Plus council workers in the area are finished by 2pm too.

So they're almost down to 4 and a half day week almost now.
Obviously any care aspects of council duty will likely need to be exempt.

However it overall makes sense I'd say.

bots 09-07-2024 09:29 AM

Council services already have defined schedules.

With websites etc, is there a need at all for full time council administrators. All the website queries can be contracted to outside agencies. There really shouldn't be much council administration these days

If Labour Build
Massive Amounts of New Houses
they must build a Doctors within it.

And ensure the ground can take the new sewer
loads.

Indeed.
Plus they know that anyway.

Sooooo

Apparently the first thing the government has done is to agree to pay Rwanda the outstanding balance of the £240m agreed to house the refugees, even though they have also said that the scheme is now cancelled. I would love someone to pay me that for not doing anything[emoji1751]

Denmark didn't get to form a government in the uk; Boris did.

Boris was PM in 2019.
