$550m will be around £330m.

Liverpool need to keep wage bill at it is for now, deppends if any of that $550m turns into English pounds.
Many players are overpriced right and is getting very silly, players that are known worldwide and will sell shirts around the world are worth big money, thats the style of Real Madrid and why they always want the big names.

30stone 21-06-2009 03:06 PM

Yes trying to buy someone at the moment, big stars, is always over priced at the moment, you think benitez will bring in any underated players or some like 20 - 22 year olds who could progress at a club that plays football like liverpool

andyman 21-06-2009 03:08 PM

Yeah i think Johnson will be the biggest signing for Liverpool this transfer window, but anything can happen in the last few days before deadline, always does and Sky Sports news is the best thing to watch.

andyman 21-06-2009 03:13 PM

When is the transfer window deadline.

Fek! Ronaldo will earn £500,000 per week! Thats £26m every year!

andyman 21-06-2009 03:21 PM

Italy v Brazil, 7.30pm BBC3!

Italy need to win, but Italy must do better than Egypt, both games live and the Egypt v USA will on at the same time via red button.

andyman 21-06-2009 03:35 PM

I think Chelsea will buy a big player, dont know who but they will send big on one player.

The Kaka & Ronaldo photoshoot will be epic, both there standing for the press wearing Real Madrid shirts.

30stone 21-06-2009 03:37 PM

Ohh yeh suppose, though with record its easier i want to watch top gear properly, international football when its not england or spain is just there. lol

30stone 21-06-2009 03:37 PM

Pirlo, and maybe Pato.

30stone 21-06-2009 03:37 PM

andyman 21-06-2009 03:43 PM

Chelsea could go for Villa and offer £45m! They have the cash to pay over the odds..

Next season is going to be pukka! Crazy that you stopped being a football supporter, footy is for life.. When you have kids they will be Liverpool supporters..

Soon 65% of football fans will be Liverpool supporters!

andyman 21-06-2009 03:46 PM

Chelsea looks odd's to sign him now, as valencia want him to.

They are in debt, Chelsea offering the most money... Win win for Valencia.

Yeh i know its weird this time last year, i could probably name 4 liverpool players, 4 chelse players, 5 man u players and 10 Arsenal players. lol
Not much else. Other than the odd person in each team.

My kids will be Reading / Arsenal Fans.

And liverpool have become less global like since they stopped winning things.

Arsenal are ready to step up their chase for a midfield enforcer with Brazil’s Felipe Melo the number one target. The Fiorentina man could cost £15m although defender Philippe Senderos could move in the other direction. (News of the World)

According to reports in Spanish online paper SportsYA, Liverpool are set to recruit 16yr old Jesús Fernández Sáez from Cadiz.

Cadiz will be receiving a higher fee than simply a compensation fee for bringing the youngster through the ranks.

Arsenal Set To Offer Kieran Gibbs A New Contract
Another academy graduate at the Emirates Stadium is set for a big future with the club...

Arsenal are set to offer young full-back Kieran Gibbs a new deal as a reward for his progress last season, according to The Mirror.

The Gunners academy graduate was given plenty of first team chances to shine towards the end of the campaign and he did not disappoint.

The 19-year-old was introduced to the first team in 2007 and has since made eight Premier League appearances for the club.

He was also given his chance in the Champions League, deputising for the injured Gael Clichy against Manchester United in the semi-finals. Not even an unfortunate slip that led to United's opener in that game could leave much of a stain on what was a highly positive start to his first eleven career.

Gibbs is currently on international duty with England at the Under-21 European Championships in Sweden, where he has so far started both games for Stuart Pearce's side.

However, he is likely to be rested for Monday's final group game against Germany as Pearce prepares for the semi-finals, which the team qualified for after a 2-0 victory against Spain.

The new deal he is set to be offered by Arsene Wenger is likely to be a long-term contract, with the Gunners looking to keep the left-sided player at the club for years to come.

Gibbs has been part of the Arsenal setup since 2004, having joined from Wimbledon, and is set to challenge Clichy for a first team spot next season.

Its good to see, english youngster coming through at Arsenal, playes great football, really proved himself last season, does well for england to.

Also i guess U21's will be rested against germany then.
