Nope, but she's returning soon to leave - I think they've given her the boot tbh

Visage 05-01-2011 02:46 PM

Yeah, it does seem that way.

I'm looking forward to some new blood in charge of the Rovers, would love to see Claudia move in.

Scarlett. 05-01-2011 02:49 PM

Same, I hope Steve sells the Rovers, and the Rovers becomes about the pub again, and not the McDonalds

Spotted these spoilers

"Rosie sinks to new lows to secure a modelling job."

Then the next day

"Jason and Rosie’s lapse in concentration has disastrous consequences. "

I think Helen Flangan's acting has improved a lot:), i've always had a marmite opinion on her but didn't get too heated during that period where almost everyone was slagging her and Rosie off:D.

Kerry 18-01-2011 09:23 PM

I don't like Rosie but she makes me laugh. I was in fits yesterday when the slate fell near her..... "I could've been killed!! Or even worse scarred for life!!" :laugh2:

Scarlett. 18-01-2011 09:23 PM

The way they've taken the character is fantastic, she's much more loveable now

Mitzeee from HO is the better soap model:love:, Rosie is a plain Jane in comparison:blush:.

Where is Liz, has she left? I read about her qutting but I didn't know she was off so soon and when is Michelle and Carla coming back on to the show? Haven't seen them pair for a while neither

Scarlett. 18-01-2011 11:33 PM

Something happened with Bev Callard, she will be returning to bow out of Corrie, and Michelle and Carla was in Monday's ep xD

Jords 18-01-2011 11:35 PM

Not sure yet :p

I think Bev Callard was simply using up her "holiday" before she leaves...

Must have been an unannounced one, because it ****ed up a storyline and ruined Jim McDonald's return

How so? How do you know it wasn't meant to pan out the way it did? And Bev could have been ill... Though on Loose Women one day they mentioned about where Liz was on Corrie & Bev said she was on a break & would be back filming soon... I wasn't aware that the cast had to announce when they went on hoiliday either lol :joker:

Because the scenes in which Jim returned had Steve saying "Oh she's just at the salon" or "oh she's just at the shop" before the writers decided she went to Spain, and the fact that the Jim vs. Owen storyline was lacking Liz...who they were fighting over. Seems a bit weird for Jim to return and NOT have a scene with Liz

Of course they have to tell people when they're going to take a holiday, so the scripts can be written in a way to accomidate it

I meant that they don't have to announce to Joe Public that they are going on holiday, as you said "must have been an unannounced holiday". Of course she would have told Corrie she was taking leave! She could have been ill, then taken time off after, or more likely as she was planning to leave was simply using up her leave. Don't forget that each actor/actress are paid on a by episode basis & they have a set number of episodes that they are contracted to, if Bev had been busy for much of last year then she would have had plenty of holiday to take, especially if they wanted her for multiple episodes for her leaving storyline...

Bev Callard had her salary clipped by 40% back in 2008 (as did many of the cast) so they will only appear for what episodes they are contracted...

If she had quit in a huff, or indeed been sacked then she wouldn't be appearing on screen again, they would simply write her out off screen, as has been done with actors in the past...

Regarding the Rosie spoiler, i've just been reading a thread on DS and according to one poster Rurseh
Spoiler:

Loses baby Jack whilst at a modelling job:shocked:
.

I know how Jim has not returned is weird:(, he's an awesome character plus more could have been done with this Owen rivalry perhaps turning into some final end fight e.g. Jez Quigley styleage:p.

Jords 19-01-2011 07:21 PM

^
oooer, cant see how that would be taking a dark turn though, unless she loses the baby on purpose?

Marsh. 19-01-2011 08:56 PM

A dark turn down a dark alley and drops him, gropes around for him, gives up and goes home? Yep, that sounds like Rosie.
