Hidden - I was pleasantly surprised, I wasn't expecting much from it 7/10

Spoiler:

It gets bonus points for the ending, was totally not expecting that

The Martian - Loved it, loved it, loved it! 10/10

Ammi 21-08-2016 05:39 AM

..Sixteen...hmmm, this didn't get a good review at all but I found it totally absorbing...it's a low budget British movie and very raw and very real in a 16yr old ex-child soldier in Africa relating and associating his past to urban 'streets of London'...an 8/10, I think....no frills/no fancies, just good performances and 'real people'...

..Burnt...another great performance by Bradley Cooper in his damaged character...I probably didn't fully enjoy it because I was distracted when watching it but still a 7/10 an I might re-watch sometime...

The Purge. Good film although stupid plot. 7/10

Just came back from the cinema after watching Finding Dory. It was really cute but it just made me realise how much older I've got :p Finding Nemo was such a big deal when I was a kid, it was weird to see quite an empty theatre considering how successful the franchise is.

The film itself had a really nice plot. It came full-circle quite well like any Pixar/Disney film would. Not as good as Finding Nemo but still a lovely sequel.

7/10

The New Star Wars Film (sorry that's what i know it as!) - Brilliant film, i really enjoyed it, for me it was the best one of the lot, loved the new little droid BB8, also the characters Po, Finn and Ray were a joy to watch. I'm not usually a fan of Star Wars (but hubby made me watch it as apparently i make him watch my crap:/)

9/10 (i'm defo watching it again:thumbs:)

Obviously, I watched this on DVD and it's just as good as how I remember when I watched it many years ago. The graphics and special effects are surprisingly good for a film made in the early noughties. Angelina Jolie is and always will be one of the most beautiful women <3

Me Before You, I went to the cinema with loads of people so I was hoping I wouldn't cry. :joker: There were actually lots of funny parts so by the end it hadn't really built up enough for me to cry. Success!

Due to the condition of the acting I can't give it more than 6/10 though.

Schindlers list. Ugh why did I torture myself and watch it again! Always heartbreaking, crying so hard. 9.5

..Saving Mr Banks...just terrific really..Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell and Paul Giamatti are all superb..and I think, genius casting of Emma because of Nanny McPhee as well...8.979/10......

Meet The Parents (2000)

Great film! I was laughing throughout! Robert De Niro is a wonderful actor in my ways and also versatile! Who knew that a guy known for acting in gangster films could also be so funny in romcoms!

last night I watched Scarlett Johansson in Under the Skin (2013)

Set in Scotland :hee: and featuring a long full frontal nude scene with Scarlett

Its dark, weird, a bit drawn out but deffo worth a watch

Niamh. 02-09-2016 11:42 AM

Jason Bourne - It was alright, i really liked his first 3 but I think it's a bit jaded now tbh

Spoiler:

I don't like how they killed off Nicky either just to trade her in for a younger model :nono:

6/10

Babayaro. 02-09-2016 12:08 PM

Chernobyl Diaries - 6/10

I had been wanting to see this ever since it came out. The idea behind is original and is probably enough to get anyone to watch it. However, it was poorly executed and had so much potential to be a classic.
Spoiler:

The only good things about it was the creepy setting and atmosphere, and I suppose the tour guide was ok, but in typical fashion he was the first to be killed off lol. The fact that the mutants/nuclear victims were never properly shown seemed pretty stupid, and the ending was ridiculous too.

Nathan Phillips (Wolf Creek) being in it was also a positive

DaNasty 04-09-2016 06:20 PM

Superman (1978)

http://static.rogerebert.com/uploads...eglWRzRng7.jpg

A bit cheesy I know but a true cult classic. What gets to me emotionally is that Christopher Reeve (1952-2004), who plays Superman passed away 12 years ago. A brilliant film, despite the dated sfx and flying scenes.

Niamh. 05-09-2016 01:28 PM

Misconduct - pretty stupid, didn't make alot of sense, disappointing because it had a great cast 4/10
