Tbh I prefer the darker series like BB6/BB13. They're much more entertaining than the "fun" series. BB15 was different in terms of nastiness though, it just had a trashy and vapid cast with no interesting house dynamic and riddled with forced conflict.

Cal. 21-01-2017 08:25 PM

I liked BB15.

Cal. 21-01-2017 08:26 PM

I don't know if part of the reason is because it's the last proper civilian series we've had.

BB16 was a mess and felt like it restarted every week with a different twist and BB17 was too short.

BB15 was 10 weeks and kept the theme running throughout which gave it a bit of structure for a recent C5 series.

Jason. 21-01-2017 08:26 PM

The first 3 weeks were great but it went downhill fast and was unwatchable post-Week 6.

Oaker 21-01-2017 08:26 PM

I still think the first 3 weeks of BB15 are some of C5's best. It was just Toya's eviction which ruined any interesting house dynamics and turned the series into Helen vs Ashleigh

Cal. 21-01-2017 08:28 PM

Toya <3

Jason. 21-01-2017 08:28 PM

If BB15 maintained the quality it had in the first 3 weeks, it would probably be my favourite C5 series or closely behind BB13.

Cal. 21-01-2017 08:29 PM

I believe Biannca would have salvaged the negative second half slightly if she'd been allowed to stay for longer than 4 days. Even just 2 weeks of Biannca would have lightened it. I seem to remember every highlights show she was in there being centred around her antics<3

Jason. 21-01-2017 08:29 PM

I get what you mean with it being the last "proper" civilian.

BB16 didn't feel like BB at all and as good as a series as BB17 was, it was a) too short and b) they had to rely on pretty much getting people that would've qualified for CBB (moreso than any other series) in order to have a good cast and make it entertaining.

I completely agree.

The rumour that BB17 was celebrities and civilians mixed together that circled in May 2016 time was partly true imo.

Lateysha, Alex, Andy, Laura, Natalie, Marco, Ryan and Georgina could have all been included in CBB easily and I think only Laura and Ryan would be the ones people would be like 'This is scraping the barrel'.

Lateysha - is an actual celeb.
Alex - is an actual celeb.
Andy - involved in a tabloid scandal like many CBB housemates.
Laura - A kiss and tell girl.
Natalie - A kiss and tell girl.
Marco - the son of somebody famous.
Ryan - X-Factor reject.
Georgina - the cast member of some E4 show I believe.

Jason. 21-01-2017 08:40 PM

I know a lot of C5 series have recruits but in BB17 they were all practically z-listers. I think the only one that had no media background whatsoever was Hughie and maybe Evelyn?

Laura could've easily passed as some unknown model on CBB like Casey Batchelor and Alex isn't any less famous than Austin Armacost who was on CBB.

Bianca's 4 days in the house were 4 days too many. There's no deeper barrel than this to scrap.

This thread turned one year old yesterday!

I miss when we'd have constant BB discussions in here.

The first two weeks of BB17 were fantastic, and things only started going (slightly) downhill after Georgina's eviction

Natalie's impact?

But no, I agree. That task with the boyfriends entering was a particular low point but then it picked up again during/after Annihilation Week.

Lostie! 27-03-2017 04:37 PM

I thought it was pretty much all great bar the boyfriends task. Thankfully averted the BB15/BB16 trend of starting well and becoming an unbearable mess after a few weeks.

reece(: 27-03-2017 04:38 PM

Without Laura, post Annihilation week would've been dire

Cal. 27-03-2017 04:40 PM

Laura pretty much saved everything post Charlie.

Cal. 27-03-2017 04:41 PM

I was reading through a producer's Twitter the other day and went to summer 2016 and he was fumed that both Charlie and Laura had been evicted on their respective eviction nights and said their evictions both proved his point of women hating women.

Which series would you say age well, and which would you say don't?

Cal. 27-03-2017 05:07 PM

CBB16 didn't age well for me at all.

BB13's aged well, very well, as has 17 (although it only aired last year)

Obviously BB15/16 haven't and I doubt ever will

reece(: 27-03-2017 05:10 PM

Jayne hasn't aged well

Kind of, yeah

Nat, Jayne, Hughie, Georgina (even if she was the biggest dick going) all provided to the general feel of the first few weeks
