i'm just going to say that taking refugees into your own home is a pretty risky action. 1 or 2 weeks in and the novelty value will quickly wear off for both sides. I foresee a lot of problems because there is a big cultural difference

The problem will be when people inevitably eventually want their space back but the people they've taken in have nowhere to go. There's been absolutely no timeframe at all attached to this (obviously there can't be) and I think the worry is people thinking it's offering emergency housing for a few months but those few months may come to an end with no answers.

Russia will only be in real trouble when they start attacking a NATO country, but with demented Putin no longer being smart he'll make that mistake and then things will get turned around with attacks at Russia from UK, USA

The reverse is also true though, he knows that he can continue his campaign in Ukraine relatively confident that NATO countries will not directly become involved so long as he doesn't hand them a mandate to do so. If he does, the invasion of Ukraine will fail. Things may also get far worse than that, but first and foremost, he doesn't have the resources to continue the war in Ukraine and tackle NATO and he knows that, so it's unlikely he would actually attack a NATO country. It's not a winnable war for Russia. The end result is that Russia loses, or nukes drop and everyone loses. There's no Russia vs NATO scenario where Russia wins. If people think the weapons Russia has been using in Ukraine are scary, they should take a peep at some of the horrors the US has under its belt.

Putin from many years back would be aware of this

Putin in his current state, not too sure about that

Something that hasn't been highlighted yet is that russia fired 30 cruise missiles at the army base close to poland. You can bet that is where the foreign legion was collecting and perhaps also the incoming weapons from the west. There has to be a big reason to target the base with 30 cruise missiles

MTVN 15-03-2022 09:22 AM

The Kremlin is saying that it was an act of 'hooliganism' by the TV presenter which is hopefully a sign she won't be hit with the most serious charges possible

I thought that very thing myself ... even if you get an absolutely perfect person or family and certainly not the extended family of 43 people that appeared on Sky News last night !

I don’t know how I’m gonna explain these two to my wife !!

Scotland will play Poland in a friendly instead of their postponed World Cup play-off semi-final against Ukraine.

The game will be played at Hampden on 24 March, the date of the original tie, with £10 from each ticket sold going to Unicef's response in Ukraine.

Poland had been scheduled to play Russia that evening, but have been given a bye into a final with Czech Republic or Sweden on 29 March.

Russia have been removed from the qualification process.

"As a father, the images of children in Ukraine has been heart-breaking to watch," said Scotland captain Andy Robertson, who is also a Unicef ambassador.
