No-one is going to pay 100m for Toney when he hasn't played in a competitive match in 8 months

England midfielder Jordan Henderson, 33, wants to return to the Premier League from Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq and will seriously consider any offers the club receive this month.

Chelsea could move for Henderson, which would increase the likelihood of Gallagher moving on.

Same applies to Roberto Firmino

::::::

Former Brazil ace Firmino has had interest although no English clubs are willing to pay the £300,000-a-week it would take to get him.

He signed a three-year deal with Al-Ahli in the summer but could now quit just six months into his contract.

Firmino has managed just three goals and three assists in 19 appearances so far this season.

The forward has also not started a league match since October, coinciding with his side's eight-match unbeaten run.

Gerard hasn't won a game in more than 2 months, so i can't see him lasting there much longer either

Cherie 07-01-2024 09:07 AM

Just goes to show money isn't everything, Henderson will be taxed due to a clause in his contract ...he needed to stay for 2 years for the tax free break so he basically sold his soul and didnt do well financially either

It’s odd that so many high profile names are quitting beach soccer [ :) ] after such a short period

There’s been a few over the last month plus Firmino yesterday

and he was exposed as a hypocrite too, so there is that

I don't think they will find it that easy to come back, they are under contract so the saudi's dont need to sell, and if they do it will be at a premium and as these players are all at the end of their careers, there wont be much demand for them

Swan 07-01-2024 12:51 PM

We don't want Henderson at Chelsea, he wont be coming here.

Gerard, like Lampard, great players, rubbish managers. They need to take a leaf out of Gary Nevile and Roy Keane's book, get a safe job as pundits. They won't ever be good managers.

That could be an inspirational signing ..

A season saver in fact .. he’d make them worth watching as well

I hope this deal comes off

Same with Arsenal who NEED to a goal scorer this window

I hope Manu do sign Beznema. HE'll be good but, it keeps them in the cycle of buying players more for marketing than for long term gain. He'd be an expensive but short term gift for the fans but seeing what happened to his mate CR7 he might have reservations

For Arsenal, we need a striker but, so does everyone else except Man City. My left field signing is is to take Evan Ferguson on loan with option to buy at the end of the season. I hate it when fans turn into accountants and claim this or that players isn't worth the money but I'm going to do it this one time

In terms of ready made striker, there are only a few who would hit the ground running and most are close to or over 100million. Osimen would be great but realistically if I were him I'd be looking for Real Madrid , Bayern etc. All the others would be too hit and miss.

For me, Ferguson would instantly become no2 and would play more minutes than Nketiah. IF he scores 8 or 10 goals from now to end of season then bid whatever necessary to get him
