I don't think they will. I think it's to do with their Bipolar, but DTC has been throwing out some shocks.

I don't think it's that Sharon doesn't fit anymore, it's that like with so many other characters no effort is being made with her.

The characters are only as strong as the writing behind them IMO.

DTC likes Jean, rates Gillian Wright as an Actress and knows she is popular with the public. I think they are doing a ''Jane'' with her, doing a short stint first to test the waters and then bring the character permanently.

I love Stacey and Jean's relationship, probably the best Mother/Daughter one I have seen in the show.

Agreed, but so many people are blaming Shirley for it and citing the overuse of the character which I don't get, some people are bitter Sharon fans with an agenda, for those who don't like Shirley fair enough.

The character of Shirley was underused for several years and it's only right now she gets her chance to shine. DTC created the character, who happens to be one of his favourites and Linda Henry is a fantastic Actress (Bad Girls is proof), so it's about time Linda gets more exposure too.

I kind of agree, but Shirley has been overused in the past and I'm bored of the "poor Shirley" stuff. Everything about her is now no longer her fault. I hate that part since DTC took over. Excusing everything she's ever done.

Not to mention all the rewriting of the Carter history.

She's a marmite character, most of them are in the show.

I like the Carters, great addition and the Actors have good chemistry but I do think it's verging on a bit of overexposure with them sometimes.

I'm still hoping they bring back Zainab and I would like to see some of the Slaters back. I reckon they need a few strong male characters too (most of the males in the show are weak).

They're definitely in need of some good male characters but I hope to god we never see Zainab again. :laugh:

That's a fault of the writers, though. They had no idea what to do with the likes of Shirley until Christmas last year but look at them now.

I'm completely lost with this Lucy storyline.
