Steve Brookstein Hates X Factor

Former X Factor winner Steve Brookstein has hit out at the show and Simon Cowell in an impassioned Facebook message.

Brookstein, who won the first series of the programme in 2004 but was later dropped by Cowell, affirmed his support of Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name' for Christmas number one.

He wrote: "Before X Factor gimps have a go, I will tell you this and I sware (sic) on my son's life, I was not bothered that my single 'Against All Odds' went to number one and I wasn't bothered that my album went to number one. I just wanted to make good music - and not the pop schlop associated with Cowell.

"Unfortunately. I was dropped because I wouldn't play the game. Now to my point - X Factor is on for four months - surely winning the show and getting a deal is enough for any artist."

Brookstein added: "To release for Christmas is just mega rich Simon Cowell doing a fuck you to Santa Claus, Rudolph, all the little elves, Frosty and not forgetting Baby Jesus. What a douche!"

To be fair on him, the show wasnt the same back then, they just forgot about him, rather than help him

He came across as very lazy and unmotivated.

Just a laid-back, easy-going kinda guy! Nothing wrong with that! Much better than some of the over-emotional, melodramatic idiots on here!:joker:

There is laid back and easy going but then there is lazy and unmotivated which is Steve. G4, Cassie and Tabby were way better than Steve! However I will hand it to Steve that he is probs a BIT better than Leon Jackson. Well it is just after Steve won.. I did not believe we could get another **** undeserving winner and we did!

Thats OK

Well what a wasted contract when Cassie or Tabby could have had it. I would have said G4 but they were successful anyways after the X Factor :D

I preferred Steve - he had a nice soulful voice! Don't even remember the others you mentioned - they had such an impact! :joker:

Jords 18-12-2009 03:08 PM

I agree with the last thing he says though, it should be a xmas song for number 1.

Phil Collins sang Against all Odds way better! I think it should be a christmas song or I did like the originality to Shayne Ward's winning song. However maybe they don't want a Christmas song because they don't want it on the X Factor winner's albulm? I think X Factor finalists should all cover a christmas song together, like they did in Pop Idol.

Well I liked Stacey, Olly and Joe. Did not really mind who won. Hey I think we would all be bitter if we won the most popular talent show and then after a few months our fame and talent just shrivelled up :joker:
