No Bitch.
She has Every Legal Right to have a Abortion.
That is the Issue

Enid 01-03-2010 05:40 PM

I don't think there is anything wrong with this. Pro-choice to have an abortion. Pro-choice to tweet about it.

Yes but why make a song and dance about it?

Stu 01-03-2010 05:41 PM

She wanted to demystify abortion. Fair play to her. Her first child has special needs, and yet it is these religious nuts who go on about how children are gods gift and you should have them.

Well that is up for debate.

Women are having abortions left, right and centre. It was only a matter of time before someone was going to reveal all the dirty details.

Yes it is a New Age on the Internet.

Iceman 01-03-2010 05:46 PM

People share just about everything else on twitter, why not this? She isn't breaking the Law or doing anything illegal by tweeting about this.....sure it might make an uncomfortable read but its not for us to say she shouldnt.

I agree totally, it's ridiculous the amount of backlash she's recieved.

Stu 01-03-2010 05:47 PM

I love how the Christian right wing are attacking her lack of discretion by openly grilling her in the media and comparing her to a scorpion.

lime 02-03-2010 11:37 AM

These pro- lifers really annoy me.
I live in Ireland and about a year ago we went to local for sunday lunch. When I took my 5yr old to the toilet they had covered the place in posters of images of abortion and smeared the place in red paint.FFS it was 3 o clock in the afternoon, place was packed with children.Really sick people!!

Also these bloody christians standing outside the clinics waving placards and chanting verses from the "good book" at those girls/women going in.COWARDS
They will say they do it because they are trying to protect the unborn ...but you never see them waving their placards outside the house of heroin dealers who have no problem selling to pregnant women. No young girls are a much easier target.

Crimson Dynamo 02-03-2010 12:22 PM

It think that is prevalent to point out that if you are a Christian then generally you are against abortion. For many pro-choice = pro-murder based on what they subscribe too as Christians.

Abortion is painful and to kill an unborn child involves burning, smothering, dismembering and crushing (on live babies that have not been specifically anaesthetized). Christians believe what the Bible states:

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

From Psalm 139

Now whether you agree with that is not the point, this is what Christians believe and calling them freaks because you dont agree is a futile waste of time. People who email this lady with insults and threats are not being Christians they are being fallen humans and it is to be condemned.

Personally I think the woman has a screw or two loose and is enjoying the notoriety. This is not something for Twitter ffs but it is legal and so I guess it is just a sad fact of 2010.

It is a horrid story that involves the death of a person.

Stu 02-03-2010 12:30 PM

Anyone who believes in The Bible is a freak if you ask me, and it's entirely within my right to say that. I do agree with you though that this is pretty much what Christians should believe. I don't respect Christians beliefs, but I certainly have more respect for the fundamentalist weirdos, believe it or not, than these Christian Lites who want all the feelgood aspects of religious belief but don't have the balls to practice and preach.

Enid 02-03-2010 12:34 PM

I think they're all freaks. The religious mentalists and the ones that are just because they were Christened when they were a few months old, they have no clue what their religion is exactly but believe in God, anyway.

But Enid you just made them up. Who are these people, where are you meeting them?

To suggest that an adult just believes because they were christened and have never questioned, read, investigated and made a sound judgement on their faith is simply ridiculous.

Many of these people exist, though.

As a Christian do you not agree that it's better to wait until the kid is older and he can make his own choice?

No. In the same way one would not do the same for music taste, TV, politics, morality and just about everything else you can tell a kid. It is called parenting and you bring your children up the way you see fit. To suggest that a teenager cannot then make a yes/maybe or no decision solely on religion but can about everything else is crazy.

"son, now you are 15 I want to tell you about something I have kept from you...football and I want you to choose which team you will support, but before you do let me tell you about Brighton and Hove Albion.."

Stu 02-03-2010 01:14 PM

As I said you bring up a child the best way you know how. Bringing up a child to worship Jesus and have him as the ultimate role model is not such a bad thing. Unless you know of a better role model?

Give me a break. Your not just bringing your child up to worship Jesus the solitary moralist figure. That's not the full package you get with the Childhood Religion Kit. That's like saying your going to bring a child up to worship John Lennon, but never have him read any lyrics or doing the whole, you know, music listening thing.

To me the best way of bringing up a child is to leave him make his own desicions when he is capable, with something as life defining and major as religious belief. Nothing makes more sense than that. I can't believe you of all people are trivializing it to the point where your comparing religion to raising a child to follow a football team.
