Robert Pattinson cast as Kurt Cobain
 

Robert Pattinson has reportedly been cast as late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in a new biopic from Universal Pictures.

According to The Sun, Cobain's widow Courtney Love suggested Pattinson for the role. She allegedly also wants Scarlett Johansson to portray her in the movie.

A source said: "This is a big money deal for Courtney. She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music.

"Robert has been calling and emailing her non-stop. She has been a bit wound up by his manners, but he is her number one choice to play Kurt."

The source added: "She is adamant Scarlett will play her. Scarlett is friendly with Frances Bean, her daughter with Kurt."

Love has reportedly approached Fight Club director David Fincher to helm the project, which has the working title All Apologies after the 1993 Nirvana single.

Last year, it was claimed that Love was interested in setting up Frances Bean on a date with Pattinson.

Meh, at least they went for the one teen idol that can actually act. He's not the best person for the role but it's a better prospect then some. Scarlet''s a good bit of casting though.

Robert Pattinson is a gross miscast if you ask me. He is too glamourous for the role and then there is the small matter of acting.

R-Patz will be diabolical in this role I reckon.

They ought to use an unknown. That's usually the best way when it's based on a real person.

R-Patz is no better than Zefron in terms of overrated teenage hype.

He is leagues ahead of him in terms of acting though.

even i think robert pattinson would be the wrong choice and i'm a big fan of his plus he has a pretty full filming schedule as it is so certainly wouldnt happen anytime soon if it were him but i'm hoping its not
