C4 only allowing UK resident's watch BB Live Feed!

I think this makes absolutely NO SENSE WHAT SO EVER! There was auditions in Ireland for BB11, And yet we cant watch the live feed or vote for evictions?!?
We can however watch 4OD (Channel 4's catch up online service) in Ireland, As i watch it on a regular basis.

I think we should bombard C4 with emails and complaints about this! Obviously this would include viewers from other countries too

What you think?

I would be gutted if I were in the ROI.

As much as I hate this 'Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland' split thing, its one of the things I love about living up here, getting to watch the same stuff you can in the UK.

BringItOn 04-06-2010 11:38 AM

I'm sure someone will stream it through Justin TV

Yep. Bombard them. Hopefully it will change.

Like you said, we can watch 4OD. We could also get the live stream online years ago.

C4, you can have my money for a HQ, consistent stream or I will go and find an illegal stream for free. Your choice.

Stu 04-06-2010 11:55 AM

Can someone post the C4 viewer complaints or BB complaints are whatever the most suitable email is in here for the rest of us for sake of ease? Because I have no idea what it is. We need to all email them and let them know.

goto channel4.com/contact

For good reason, you stream it online to the world, you loose foreign BBs viewers, people can choose to avoid their own shows and paying for their own feeds and watch ours, upsetting Endemol HQ (Netherlands) who own and control the franchise, the hand that feeds.

Plus if the housemates get to listen to a song and they don't bleep it properly ambulance chasers for recording companies will sue their arses off for not paying to broadcast it in another nations.

It's more trouble than it's worth.

Wasting your time, their not going to change it, bringing back the feed wouldn't cause legal troubles, franchise issues and kill the show's possibility of returning, streaming it internationally will.

If you want, kick up a fuss, start a riot, spam them it's not gonna happen though.

It's just not worth the risk to them and never will be. It's BBUK they owe people outside the UK nothing, they aren't their market.

Stu 04-06-2010 12:03 PM

We had it before. 'Nuff said.

Yes they are. Big Brother is broadcast, promoted heavily, and even open auditioned in this country. Has been for years. Up until complications recently we could vote perfectly fine.

Yes, I know, but Britain is their main market and I suspect that is why they didn't bring voting there back when the complications were sorted.

Well obviously Britain is the main market. I don't think that should conflict with anything else though. We should have the 24/7 live feed. We had it before.

i thought ireland was britain

Vicky. 04-06-2010 01:08 PM

Makes not much sense really.

If they are charging, and people are willing to pay for it, why withhold in certain countries? Seems stupid. They would make more money...surely that's their main priority, rather than anything else...
