YES Janelle Monae got a nomination!!! So happy!
Can't believe Kelis' "Accapella" video hasn't had any, it was class. EDIT: Also pleased Nicki Minaj's "Massive Attack" got nommed, epic video. My predictions: Video of the Year: Eminem — "Not Afraid" Best Collaboration: Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé — "Telephone" Best Female Video: Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg — "California Gurls" Best Male Video: Eminem — "Not Afraid" Best Hip Hop Video: Eminem — "Not Afraid" Best New Artist: Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris — "Baby" Best Pop Video: Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg — "California Gurls" Best Rock Video: Paramore — "Ignorance" Best Dance Music Video: Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" Best Art Direction: Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Art Director: Charles Infante) Best Choreography: Janelle Monáe featuring Big Boi — "Tightrope" (Choreographer: Janelle Monae & The Memphis Jookin Community) Best Cinematography: Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Cinematographer: Chris Probst) Best Direction: Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" (Director: Francis Lawrence) Best Editing: Rihanna — "Rude Boy" (Editor: Clark Eddy) Best SFX: Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Special Effects: Animaholics-VFX) Breakthrough Video: ... Eminem and Gaga will clear out mostly, I think. |
Haven't seen/heard most of the videos, so my opinion will be pretty biased, but I want these to win:
Video of the Year: 30 Seconds to Mars — "Kings and Queens" Best Collaboration: Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé — "Telephone" Best Female Video: Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" Best Male Video: Eminem — "Not Afraid" Best Hip Hop Video: Eminem — "Not Afraid" Best New Artist: Don't like any of them. Best Pop Video: Lady Gaga — "Bad Romance" Best Rock Video: 30 Seconds to Mars — "Kings and Queens" (Since when is Florence rock? o.O) Best Dance Music Video: Cascada — "Evacuate The Dancefloor" Best Art Direction: Florence + the Machine — "Dog Days Are Over" (Art Director: Louise Corcoran) Best Choreography: Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé — "Telephone" (Choreography: Laurieann Gibson) Best Cinematography: Eminem — "Not Afraid" (Cinematographer: Chris Probst) Best Direction: 30 Seconds to Mars — "Kings and Queens" (Director: Bartholomew Cubbins) Best Editing: Rihanna — "Rude Boy" (Editor: Clark Eddy) Best SFX (Special Effects): Muse — "Uprising" (Special Effects: Sam Stevens) Breakthrough Video: Coldplay — "Strawberry Swing" |

if Eminem even wins 1 award he climbs up in the overall winners table of all time...if he wins 8 he'll be just behind madonna.
|

As long as GaGa wins more than 3, and Justin Beiber doesn't win, I'll be happy :D
|
Disappointed in the nominations. Hope Lady Gaga wins the Save and Replace, I wouldn't mind Eminem being evicted.

Wow, 8 noms for Eminem, he deserves it and hopefully he'll clean up :)
|
Gaga got sooo many noms, but they are all well deserved in my opinion apart from Bad Romance which I think is very overrated (video, not the song)
|
Only one nomination for Rihanna. ****
|
Beyonce must have paid a lot for her nominations, I can't see Videophone being nominated because it's good

I find it funny that gaga got 13 noms but it's impossible for her to win 13...kind of a kick in the face.....

Eminem has reportedly been selected to open this weekend's 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
According to Access Hollywood, producers for the ceremony believe that the 'Not Afraid' rapper's performance will be the perfect start to Sunday's telecast. "We thought that there's no better way to kick off the show than [with] a performance from Eminem," said MTV general manager Stephen Friedman. The musician is nominated for eight trophies for his latest album Recovery. |
