Susan Boyle or Take That

Both Susan and Take That are releasing new albums on the 15th of November

Susan's second album 'The Gift' is the follow up to 2009's huge worldwide seller 'I Dreamed a Dream' and Take That's new album 'Progress' is the group's first album since Robbie Williams rejoined the band.

Who do you think will get the #1 album spot when both are released next week?

Smithy 07-11-2010 12:14 AM

Michael Jackson ;)

edit: wait whuuut I thought they were competing for xmas number 1 album?

Locke. 07-11-2010 12:14 AM

Considering how fast Take That's tour sold out they probably won't have any problems doubling Susan Boyle's sales in the first week.

Shaun 07-11-2010 12:16 AM

SuBo's old news. TT's very much not.

Callum 07-11-2010 12:17 AM

Also just realised Rihanna, P!nk and McFly are also releasing new albums next week. Going to be a tough week for the albums chart.

Princess 07-11-2010 12:21 AM

I don't know about Susan Boyle but the boys were one of the fastest selling albums ever with The Circus, they sold a million copies in the UK in 22 days and it's gone platnium 7 times. They were Number 1 for either 3 or 5 weeks last time, can't remember for the life of me. But yeah bias aside it's obviously going to be Take That.

I can't fathom this national infatuation with them. At least the Bay City Rollers (their 70's equivalent) had the good grace not to be half as bafflingly popular.

Jack_ 07-11-2010 12:26 AM

Take That. No competition whatsoever.

Princess 07-11-2010 12:29 AM

Here ya go
Prior to the official release of Take That's upcoming album The Circus it was revealed that the album had broken all preorder records and had become the most preordered album of all time.On its first day of release The Circus sold 133,000 copies and after four days on sale it sold 306,000 copies (going platinum) making The Circus the fastest selling album of the year. The album reached number 1 on the UK album charts on 7 December 2008 with total first-week sales of 432,490, the third highest opening sales week in UK history.

 Its gonna be close

bbfan1991 07-11-2010 12:33 AM

Hopefully Take That and also because I can't stand SuBo:).

Princess 07-11-2010 12:34 AM

Don't forget though you've got Robbie fans on top of Take That's as well though.

Omah 07-11-2010 12:34 AM

Oh just some hussy who uses her body to sell her boring records.

Callum 07-11-2010 12:41 AM

Currently Susan is higher than Take That on both Amazon and iTunes, I expect TT will overtake her when both albums are released but like Smithy said this is going to be close and I wouldn't be surprised if Susan just pipped Take That to get the #1.

Princess 07-11-2010 12:47 AM

Just seen on Amazon Take That are number 2 with Progress but they're also Number 10 with the deluxe edition.

Patrick 07-11-2010 01:25 AM

Susan is dead and gone and over.

Take That are back.

Zippy 07-11-2010 01:29 AM

Take that easily. They have some major tv shows coming up.

I think Subo is a one hit phenomenon. Though it will do fairly well I suppose.

Jords 07-11-2010 02:38 AM

TT.

Vladimir 07-11-2010 06:05 AM

I think Rihanna could get no. 3. That'd be good.

This.

TT appeal to a MUCH wider audience too. :)

lol 07-11-2010 09:24 AM

Can there be a neither option?

Callum 08-11-2010 12:35 AM

Oh looks like Susan's album is now available to buy, seems like her producers knew she would have no chance of beating Take That.

Beastie 08-11-2010 12:38 AM

Out of them two..

Take That!!!!!

Nicky. 08-11-2010 03:09 PM

Take That! I won't be buying it til the week after though, as McFly's is out next week too :P (I already have it though - but still!)
