That Feeling You Get When You Slip On Ice...

I swear I love the ice, and not many people do.

We have LOADS of it in places where there isn't as much snow, I've never seen the entire town be covered in this much, it's quite lovely to see people slipping all the time.

And it's like everyone is just gliding along the ice instead of walking, even in town carrying their shopping it's just gliding and sliding along

I personally love to Ice Skate on the ice going into risky situations such as slopes where you know if you were with someone else they'd say 'Don't go in there or you're ******ed.'

But it's brilliant.

Does anyone else do this? Just slide across ice for the fun of it.

And then...

Slip or ALMOST Slip, like you're practically in the air and grab onto something?

I did it about 5 times when I was walking home, I hate the feeling were you feel like such a faily bastard when you slip and you look about to see if anyone saw you and then put on a little 'Pfft that was fun, Idc that I slipped.' face just incase anyone saw from their windows.

The worst part is when you think of how your face went when you slipped, the sheer look on people's faces is so unattractive and silly it's quite amusing.

No, I slip then I swear and yelp and make all other noises till I stop

Shaun 30-11-2010 04:32 PM

For me it's "oh god, I'm going to die."

Marc 30-11-2010 04:33 PM

I almost fell over today

& I immediately had to check if anybody had seen me. I then proceeded to strut confidently down the road.

i kept thinking about people falling over then i started laughing in the street nobody saw me though :L

Stacey. 30-11-2010 04:36 PM

LOL yeah I love it too.

It's actually like the funniest thing ever when someone falls over, although they don't find it that funny. It's so embarrassing when you do, but you just act like you're loving it and that to make it look better :L

I live on a really bad hill, so it's awful. I think I posted about the time last year I made the mistake of strutting down it to Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance" :( I had to slide the rest down on my bum.

This. The lurch in your stomach and the mild panic in that split second where you skid on the ice. :bawling:

I had a pretty lols skid the other day, was walking round a corner and wasn't paying enough attention, slipped a bit so grabbed the nearest thing to me to steady myself... the wall of a Lloyds TSB bank. I got stared at by the bank tellers, lmao.

Boothy 30-11-2010 05:09 PM

LOL!

I did this walking home yesterday. I was watching some people resurface a road then BAM! I slipped, managed to stay on my feet and just shouted "******ing hell!" really loud without thinking or anything. All of the council people doing the road just looked at me. I carried on walking home with my head down feeling like a twat.

Tom 30-11-2010 05:11 PM

Its even worse when you're driving and your car is sliding allover the road! That really is an "oh sh*t I'm going to die" feeling

Boothy 30-11-2010 05:12 PM

This thread reminded me of this video from back at school. The kid's laugh who's recording it cracks me up.

Oh I hate this feeling. This happened to me back in January (we only got snow today where I am). I was walking down the road home, and I had been walking on the ice a lot so I felt confident on it so I started to walk faster - BIG MISTAKE.

I ended up falling flat on my arse and and had a wet bum on the walk home

Jords 30-11-2010 11:41 PM

Hahaha I love the feeling too. It's quite fun seeing people you don't like and hoping they fall arse over tit *feels mean*

Smithy 02-12-2010 06:21 PM

I'm sick of this feeling now, 3 times today i went sliding :(

Luckily I didn't fall over

Stacey. 02-12-2010 06:23 PM

I slipped today but never fell :')

Princess 02-12-2010 06:24 PM

Nah ice terrifies me. I walk so slow just in case. I swear I got outpassed by children and old people yesterday

CaraRawr 02-12-2010 07:50 PM

I slipped when it snowed last year, it was our first day back after the snow days and i walked into school and fell flat on my arse in front of a bunch of lads in the year above lmao. Was a bit awkward, especially when they all laughed.
