Remembering John Lennon....

30 years ago John Lennon was shot dead in New York. He was only 40 years old and the world was deprived of all the great songs he never got to write and we never got to hear.

He may have gone, but the legend lives on.

RIP John :( Such a loss to the world, would have loved to have seen what he would have came up with these days.

Watched 'The Day John Lennon Died' the other day, it was so sad. Yoko is so lovely.

Yes, I watched that the other day as well, felt so sorry for Yoko, she's been a hate figure for so long. I remember the day he died, it was just total shock, horror and disbelief. Strange to think he would have been 70 years old now. The words "genius" and "legend" are bandied about too much these days, but in his case, he really was. RIP John.

he is soooo overated, no offense but all that crap is so irrelevant - nobody cares... give me aston merrygold anyday. all is solo work was rubbish... um is it ever on the radio now? the beatles were crap too - just a wannabee boyband that nobody cares about... music didn't get good till the late 90s really.

That was lies by the way. I can't believe it has been that long, even though I wasn't alive when it happened it is strange how relevant he is today, although I suppose I shouldn't see it as a surprise that he is still such a icon. I wonder how he would be seen today, if he would still have the respect he has immortalised since his death.

Yep, I have done.

Prefer hers though.. I'm not a great fan of John Lennon tbh

Shaun 08-12-2010 08:45 PM

Thought this was remembering Lennon, not defacing him.

I'm not saying he's **** or I hate him or anything like that.. it's respect which I thought you'd know about.

Patrick 08-12-2010 09:06 PM

Wasn't he on X Factor last year as a guest performance...?

It's exactly because I KNOW what respect is that I would never compare JOHN LENNON with that talentless pikey who crucified one of his greatest songs.
