Guests who remove shoes when they come in

DO you make guests in your house take their shoes off or do you know of any weirdos who take their shoes off when they come in?:conf:

Ninastar 04-02-2011 04:56 PM

Nope its not weird. Although I dont do either, I understand some of the reasoning behind it.

Keeps carpets cleaner, longer and reduces the amounts of pollutants brought into the home on shoes.

I never wear shoes in the house anyway but I people can take their shoes off in our house if they want. It wouldn't bother me. :/

No don't want peoples stinking feet all over my floors, would much rather they wore their trainers.

and get mud/**** that they have stepped in on the floor?

Chuck 04-02-2011 05:03 PM

My guests can vomit on the carpet and I couldnt care less. But I have a japanese friend who always insists in taking her shoes off when she comes to my house.

Being aware of how neurtic I am, if someone would ask me to take my shoes off when I go to their houses, I would be asking myself and my closest friends if I am hygienic enough and if I gave people the impression that I'm disgusting, repulsive or repugnant.

MTVN 04-02-2011 05:13 PM

I always ask if I can keep my shoes on

Kerry 04-02-2011 05:49 PM

I find it's polite to ask the house owner if they want you to remove your shoes

Princess 04-02-2011 05:52 PM

I never ask but no one wears shoes in my house so most people tend to take them off. I always take them off when I go to someone's elses house, well I mean friends and that.

Jordan. 04-02-2011 06:00 PM

People take their shoes off, why would we want **** and mud all over the house from someones shoes....

Enid 04-02-2011 07:01 PM

I find it weird to take your shoes off. I never think to unless I'm asked. To me, that's like removing your shirt or trousers. Luckily I only know people who couldn't give a **** what their carpet looked like.

Kerry 04-02-2011 07:06 PM

I used to care, I have cream carpets, now I don't. I still think it's polite to ask though
