The show has to evolve. It's 2011.

Alot of people are complaining that they want the show to be back to basics and a social experiement like it was, but the truth is, it's not 2000 anymore it's 2011 and the 12th series. The show needs to evolve. The same concept can't be used over and over and over again without evolving. Nobody sees the show as a 'social experiment' and 'a view into a house' anymore because the show has already been there and done that, that concept isn't fresh to people anymore.

There probably WILL be a new style of adding, and you just have to accept it and roll with it. If you wanna watch a simple social experiment again watch BB1. Of course the fans love the show how they are used to it, they don't always like change, but in order to pull in casual viewers and new viewers you need to keep things fresh.

I have to agree. As much as I preferred BB in the first few series, you're spot on.

Glenn. 15-08-2011 10:46 PM

12th series you mean?

But yes I agree with you completely.

If Doctor Who fans thought like this, the show would of been dead decades ago.

Jords 15-08-2011 10:47 PM

100% behind you with this!

Mystic Mock 15-08-2011 10:48 PM

But why get rid of live feed? I would much prefer a 13 week runned series than no live feed at all,as live feed tells you the true story of whoes in the right between any divides in the house.

It can evolve without having to be cheesed up with American soap opera music.

Ah, dumb mistake of me. I just get it confused sometimes because I think 2011=BB11.

It's time to create NEW magic, not recreate the old magic.

CharlieO 15-08-2011 10:50 PM

Don't agree at all.

It does need to evolve but not in some cheap childish gimmicky way. Going back to basics would be a good twist anyway these days when we have had 7 years of nonbasic BB living.

I totally agree with Mollie.

I don't discount that, I agree there should be a live feed because even BBUSA which is edited to death has a live feed. But it's probably because BB is airing in the fall this time not in the summer so the feed probably won't get as much views since people have school and work.

I'd rather they copy the old BB than recreate BB10/11 again.

Who says it's gonna be like that though? We don't know yet.

Notice how I said CREATE not recreate......

BB11 was **** but the production was flawless. It's the casting that was horrible.

Glenn. 15-08-2011 10:54 PM

Music just adds that little extra humor where needed. The Save and Replace tasks last year where actually hilarious with music added to them.

Like I said in the other thread, people seem to be nitpicking over stupid trivial stuff.

Is it that bad. A bit of music playing?

People should think themselves lucky another series of BB starts in less than 3 days, not crying because the producers want to pull the series into a new generation.

Or would you rather there was no BB at all?

Agreed. Bits of the show can seem flat and boring and a bit of music would add emotion to it.

RichardG 15-08-2011 10:58 PM

So long as they don't play James Blunt music when someone is sad and they don't play the Benny Hill theme when someone is running around the house then i'm not bothered.

In my eyes the production was not flawless it was far too overdone and gimmicky. I hated all the music and 'coming up' parts.

Exactly. Why should we need music added to have humour. We need housemates to create genuine humour. The fact they have to waste sections of the minimal 45 min show for scenes where they have to add effects/music to make it at all interesting is ridiculous. Looks at BB5-7 which had none of these but were FAR more interesting than BB11.

I do agree with this. But I don't think they will be that dramatic.

InOne 15-08-2011 10:59 PM

I HATED the music bits. That better not be happening :nono: Also the way they edited the parties with music and stuff :bored:

Marsh. 15-08-2011 11:01 PM

I don't know how anyone likes the music and edited gimmicks used last year. It completely negates the "reality" aspect of the show. Yes, it can evolve but I still like it feeling real and not like watching a scripted drama/comedy.

Stu 15-08-2011 11:02 PM

Can we please introduce a rule that instantly bans the next piss who poses an argument that goes along the lines of 'Well who are you to share your opinion on this element of the show you don't like? YOU SHOULD BE JUST HAPPY IT'S BACK'.

I'm on my hands and knees begging you, James. It's been going on for weeks and weeks now and it's dreadfully tedious.

Agreed. The production for BB11 was horrendous and tacky. I can't believe people thought it was "flawless".

Doogle 15-08-2011 11:14 PM

The music was good, I agree, but I don't like it on BB.
