I'm wondering

Does the UK version of X Factor have a lot of sob stories because it seems that everyone that is being passed has a sob story here in America.

Oh BTW I LOVE THE SHOW wish it was here sooner

Patrick 26-09-2011 01:38 AM

Yes - ALOT, it's one of the many reasons why people got fed up with it.

MTVN 26-09-2011 01:38 AM

Yeah it does, the X Factor is all about sob stories

Patrick 26-09-2011 01:39 AM

Only here, the sob stories didn't begin until like 2006 - so I wonder why the Americans are turning on the waterworks already and it's only Series 1 there?

I remember X Factor being jampacked with sob stories from the very beginning.
TBH it feels as though they've thankfully eased up on the sobs. We still get piano music to someone with a sore throat who think they might drop out or whatever but it's improved on what it was.
I think they've left all that sort of mushy stuff for BGT now.

We also show footage of Asian women throwing up in supermarket carrier bags. Just so you're aware.

here's why maybe 5. Million. Dollars. Garanteed Contract.

Joelle. 26-09-2011 01:46 AM

But seriously sob stories are the reason people like Melanie McCabe and Nicole Simpson have got almost zero airtime. Only about a quarter of the show is actual singing when you think about it. It's always either a panning shot of a crowd outside the arena crossing their arms in an X, or Dermot standing on a rooftop explaining how the format works for the 10 millionth time. :bored:

Roy Mars III 26-09-2011 01:47 AM

Yeah. Producers think it'll endear the contestants more to the public and get them more into the show.

BBfanUSA 26-09-2011 01:49 AM

Juan
We got the same thing except it's Steve Jobs in a Truck going all around the country.
If the show was on NBC there would be no Simon but Nick Cannon (Who hosts AGT) would've been the host instead

Good old Daniel.

I can remember me, 30stone, and Chris Moyles were his only fans in the country.

Joelle. 26-09-2011 01:53 AM

Oh yes, Daniel Evans...

Maia 26-09-2011 01:54 AM

Daniel :joker:

I think Stacey (Who was the woman that sang in the final LA audtion clip) is our sob story queen

What's his?

Do you know what the homeless guys name was that was on the second show? All I can remember is he was homeless, sang a James Brown song, and then had to sing another song, then get through

These parts have me longing for the days of our previous presenter Kate Thornton. Dermot piles on the cheese at times.

His Wife Died, but he kept bringing it up in every VT before his performance.

'I'm doing it for Mary, because she'll be watching down on me and this song is for her you know...'

He would dedicate every ******ing song to her, and then start crying everytime the Judge gave him a comment about her

He was gold just because he milked her death so much to get him through.
Good lad though.

that's his name

also b4 Nicole took Cheryl's place i think she was supposed to be Cohost with Steve. But i didn't see her at LA's Auditions with him. I guess it was starting at Boot Camp or something or talk to the contestants backstage
