Hi all :)
Thanks for all the messages, it's certainly been a long 10 years.
I used to post on BBUK during BB1 and BB2. It was a small knit community, with names like Joe, Peg, Disco, Sticks, LEE, Kaz, Romantic Old Bird, Wildchild, Big Sister and many more. I was about 16 at the time and I was interested in web sites and how they were made. I made a Shipwrecked fansite hosted on Homestead with profiles of all the contestants and even though nobody ever visited the site, I learnt how to setup a basic website.
One night I decided to buy the domain thisisbigbrother.com and the idea was to copy my shipwrecked site but for the more popular show Big Brother. BBUK was great at providing content, but most of the people who used the site used MSN to stay in touch and I thought that a BB website with a more active forum could really take off.
James came onboard when LEE and I struggled on the more technical side of things. He's been an amazing help the last 8 years or so, and is the main reason TiBB is still strong today to which I'm really grateful :)
The site has seen many people come and go. We were all saddened when ROB and Andyman passed away and that's because under all of the drama that goes on here, this is a pretty tight community. Lots of you have probably not met each other, but consider people on TiBB to be some of your closest friends.
I'm not sure where the future of TiBB lies at the moment. It definitely needs James and I to sit down and discuss one day where we go from here. I hope we can find a way to bring it in the 2012 in style :)
Thanks to everyone who has stuck with the site through thick and thin. Some of the things this site has been through is incredible. Maybe I'll sit down with Sticks one day and write a proper history of the site ;)
It's weird when I think we aren;t far off our first TiBB poster who was born after the start of the site. Who knows, maybe they already exist :)
If anyone has any good memories from years ago, be sure to revive them here!
