mikey - liverpudlian glyn - welsh imogen - welsh lisa - manunian (or however you spell it) nikki - just trying to be upper class THEY NEED TO PUT SUBTITLES ON MORE OFTEN, i can barely understand what these people are saying? does anyone else have the same problem? |
UUUUM Edweep you called me shallow for posting on looks and now you post on accent....uuum, you hypocrite. Shallow!!
Who cares? As you so aptly put it. |
I can understand it all although Glyn and Imogen are quite hard sometimes
And how is Nikki trying to be upper class .. even if she did how is that to get understand |

I was merely posting on how frustrating it is when you can't understand what they're saying because of their accent, how is that shallow? Quote:

I said that when she is angry or upset uses diction and a tone that could be mistaken for an upper class accent. This is a misunderstanding of the person observing her. This is not the same as what you said. |

Mikey's mumbling annoys me but i'm used to it by now, every ba$tard in the street talks like that. I've been practicing and i can nearly talk at a normal pace with only a bit of mumbling!

Well then Genius, my guess is that your OP was incorrect and should have said "trying to sound posh / upper class" not "trying to be upper class" |

It was hardly belittling when I said people are mistaken about her accent - you then tried to pass the comment off as the same thing where it clearly wasn't. |

Seriously Edwin, forget it now.
Legend...... totally agree about Mikey. Every few words it's like...sorry?? What was that???? lol. |
OK - that's a fair comment.
But no, I dont have a problems with the accents. In my job I travel all over Europe, and I mostly only get a problem with people that can barely speak English. I'm not proud to say, but my skills in other languages is poor so have to rely on English :nono: Regional accents are no problems for me but I'm glad there are no Glaswegians in the house as I find that I have to listen a few words behind trying to keep up with some of them!!! |

Dont sonud like Shabaz though LMAO When i go to England, they expect me to speak slower as if im in the wrong If they came over they would be in for a shock! |
He was so damn annoying but at the same time I was split when he left.... On one side it was ad that he left because the drama was good television..... on the other hand the cracks in the rest of the house began to show at long last
|
Oh...so you're not been shallow now, edweep, eh? And no, trust me, I wasn't going around 'edweep searches', don't flatter yourself, m'boy.

I dont mind the accents apart from Imogens as I find it hard to understand.

Nikki's the easiest to understand because she's always over-enunciating (and I'll leave the upper class comment alone, since it's already established that she's not doing that) I have to make a comment on your listing of accents, though. Richard doesn't exactly have a "Canadian" accent - it's more like he's trying to affect some British inflections, but running it all through a Bette Davis filter. And don't forget Susie's fake posh accent. You KNOW she didn't talk like that as a child. She probably picked it up when she started trying to marry a rich man. |
