Have the older viewers wrestled back the majority voting from the teenagers.

I think so.

The last few winners have, to me,seemed more in touch with the more senior members of the public than teenagers.

Have we done it! Have we rightly wrestled back our big brother?

lostalex 28-01-2012 11:04 AM

i can't imagine many older people supporting Denise, so i'd say no.

Could you imagine teenagers supporting her against the twins?

Glenn. 28-01-2012 11:07 AM

I know a lot of older people that love BB.

I still think its main voting base is young adult though.

Omah 28-01-2012 11:07 AM

Is anyone over 25 watching CBB/BB on C5 ?

LOL..yes, I know a lot of people who disliked both actually but voted Denise because they disliked her less than they disliked the twins....I'm not convinced Denise's win wasn't because people loved her but because they hated Michael and the twins......but, a win is a win, nevertheless

All the people I know who watch it are 13-17 (I'm a lot older than that and I DON'T watch any BB/CBB on C5 ..... ;).

Wouldn't that make those people complete idiots for paying money to vote for someone they didn't like!!

That makes no sense to me..Why bother voting if you don't like any of the final five.:joker::joker:

Is this forum not a bit of a strange place for you to turn up in if that is true!

chuff me dizzy 28-01-2012 11:24 AM

Judging by facebook and other places the voting age didnt come into it IMO I voted Denise /Frankie as did my 17 yr old, so its seems to be more across the board

..well I don't like to think of young people as 'idiots'..maybe they're not always 'logical'...but they think with their hearts....it's endearing

It doesn't matter what age they are, if you are silly enough to vote for someone you DISLIKE on a popularity show, IMO, you deserve to be accused of being a bit of an idiot.

Angus 28-01-2012 11:28 AM

No, it's purely down to vote to save. Vote to save kept Michael and the Twins in for the whole three weeks, and for that I'm delighted. A vote to evict would have delivered us a very different show and a very different winner.

But it's a vote to win in the end and for the past few bb's it's been someone I consider to be more in touch with the older viewer that has won..

No ..... the "forum" has a multitude of discussion platforms - most of the year BB is not even a live topic ..... ;)

Fair enough..But I do find it strange that you would post on a forum about a programme you don't watch and therefore can make nor have any valid opinion on the topics of discussion the said programme generates.

Each to their own though.

SSL2012 28-01-2012 11:38 AM

I'd say alot of the voters are of the older audience.
Yes there's a good portion of young viewers, which is fives target audience as thats what really boosts the profits etc for them with advertisers.

But if you look at twitter and other social feeds. A programme like skins will top trend even with a measley 500,000 viewers on E4, yet the normal BB which averages at least 3 if not 4 times that amount of viewers, rarely top trends except the launch and final etc.

I could be wrong, but i'd call it down the middle in regards to the age demographic that watch and vote.
Ethier way BB has boosted 5's profile with the younger audience which was the aim for them when buying BB.

Its like a Master King Desmond Plan
as her being a ITV1 Loose Women daytime show
will get his ch5 show more PR.

Yesterdays Express was saying she was the winner
had her front page.

It's entirely possible that the HMs that reached the final on vote to save, would not have done so if it had been vote to evict throughout the show.

I'm an older viewer and I think Denise is the worse winner ever of CBB. I reckon Natalie and Kirk would have been in the final, and probably Natalie would have won it over Denise. We would also have had a very different show if those two had stayed in.

Please find any of my posts that relate to watching the latest "programme" ..... ;)

AFAIK, I have contributed next to nothing about the content of the series, which, of course, is appropriate if I'm not watching it ..... :laugh2:

Naturally, I can comment on an aspect such as ratings, which is relevant, but external, to the series ..... :idc:

As I pointed out before, the "forum" is multi-functional - FMs are free to express a "valid opinion" on any "topics of discussion" they wish ..... or not ..... :spin:

Not sure who voted for Denise. Michael (and probably Gareth) had more older voters, and Frankie more younger ones.

I'm 33 and was supporting the Twins, hated Denise. And fyi Omah I have been watching BB since it started when I was 21, I'm not going to stop now!

TheManWhoLaughs 28-01-2012 05:34 PM

When has the vote ever been dominated by tweens?

Ever since it stopped being a 'social experiment', all of the winners are the sorts who've been fairly popular with 40+ women. Aaron and Jay were the obvious 'housewives favourites' from BB12 and both dominated.
