Olympics sub-forum

If it is possible (and I know it is :suspect:) could there be an Olympics sub-forum made in the sports forum? it could just be there until the Olympics are over, and it would make things a whole lot easier.

If we only have one thread to discuss the games in, there are going to be a load of people discussing entirely different things at the same time. For example, whilst I wittily comment on the Badminton, someone else may be commenting on the horsey events. This creates a whole load of confusion.

If we have a sub-forum, there can be different threads for different sports, such as a running thread, a football thread, a swimming thread, and so on. This would result in a much more free flowing discussion of the games.

It would also mean that the sports forum itself would not be littered with Olympics related topics, making it easier for people not interested by the games to find topics on the sports that they are interested in.

Shaun 02-07-2012 09:02 PM

would be nice (even if a bit quiet in 6 months time )

Jayson 02-07-2012 09:04 PM

It could be removed and all the threads in it put into the Sports forum after the games :P

Not sure it's worth it given the short length of it and I doubt it will get THAT many posts in it

Novo 03-07-2012 10:53 PM

Think it's a good idea.. can think of a few people that will talk about it once it starts

Yeah I have an interest this year with Katie Taylor.... but IIRC last time there was a good few of us talking about the athletics and stuff....

I'm an Olympic addict. Or at least I was with Athens, Sydney and Beijing. I'll probably post in it a lot.

I think Nathan has been hitting the crack pipe

billy123 04-07-2012 08:52 AM

Who is eddie the eagle edwards rowing against in the karate this year?

Novo 05-07-2012 09:32 PM

Think it would be in TIBB's best interests to make me Mod during the Olympics so i can sort out the Olympic section and make sure it's active :idc:

Jayson 05-07-2012 09:34 PM

If anyone would become a mod it would be me :idc:

Jayson 05-07-2012 09:34 PM

Think I might spam James' wall with links to this thread

Should get me in his good books

Novo 05-07-2012 09:40 PM

I've got big plans when i become Mod of the Olympics section

Jayson 05-07-2012 09:54 PM

You're going to give us all herpes, aren't you? :(

Novo 05-07-2012 09:56 PM

Going to make a separate thread for every event of the Olympics

Jayson 05-07-2012 10:00 PM

That's the plan

If we actually do get this sub-forum it'll make things so much easier

King Gizzard 05-07-2012 10:09 PM

There was only 650 odd posts in the Beijing thread

Jayson 05-07-2012 10:15 PM

But this is in London & the forum is more active now

King Gizzard 05-07-2012 10:22 PM

Forum is more active? Seriously? Lol

Jayson 05-07-2012 10:25 PM

Well, neither of us can judge properly as we weren't here then, but look at the Sports forum. No-one posted there until the left few years.
