The Great Aaron was very fortunate to win

Looking back at his year there was a lot of circumstances that helped Aaron to his crown:
  • Harry & Faye were evicted before the final - all votes were therefore transferred to him.
  • A very weak final - Tom, Louise??
  • Jay's presence in the final - motivated Aaron fans to vote harder.
  • And the BIG one: Mark walking - part of the big reason why I think Aaron won is that despite his faults particularly towards the last two weeks his fans had become too attached and there wasn't an appealing alternative to switch to. I genuinely believe if Mark had stayed he would have had the casual vote & a considerable number of Aaron fans jumping ship on his side to have seen him win BB12.

one could say it was fate

rayheartbliss 14-08-2012 08:35 PM

i cnt say much cuz i watched none of it
but wasnt the votings way cheaper last year than this year, that may also have helped.

The only circumstance that helped him win was cheap ass FB voting.

dathadiguy 14-08-2012 09:19 PM

But it was cheap for everyone else surely. Come on, in a final of Aaron, Jay & Alex who are you gonna vote for? I'm certain if Mark had stayed it would have been a different outcome. I'm not saying it was a win by default but it was pretty close.

MTVN 14-08-2012 09:25 PM

Aaron had the hardcore forum support base though who are more likely to exploit the cheap voting I'd say, although that theory was sorta contradicted by K&K only coming 5th(?) in CBB9 but then I'd think people do tend to vote less in CBB

It was just as cheap for the other housemates.

Aaron was more sussed but also.had way way more support. He was leading in some final polls bu 75% in 4-way. Deana barely scaped 35%. Obviously having soldiers intact was detrimental..

I liked Deana but she did not carry the show - good or bad - to extent Aaron did. C5 blatantly tried to get AT and focus HL on Jay/Anton (Antons birthday/ hamburger task but Aaron stole show somehow. Aaron did something EVERY day whether it was kissing Maisy then Fay, leading on Tom, witty comment, rows, Harry bromance, Wolfpack rivalry, making Anton go crazy, sulking etc. Deana in eviction battle week (Arron Conor Becky) on a HL was just walking around in circle ans that was it. Aaron stole HL shows when they weee trying to switch focus away from him!

Mark was my fav initially (but i switched to Aaron when he left).

I actually think Mark walked because he realised Aaron was gonna win. Plus although Mark was v likeable and fun he could not maintain the nude animal loving man persona for X weeks whereas Aaron was coming out with some ace one liners and being entertaining (Faye / Maisy kiss drama - which Aaron engineered but pretended to be traumatised by). Mark even admitted that apart from 'not like being on camera' the other reason for walking was he felt.like he wasnt centre of attention as he envisaged - Aaron was - and was going to dominate and be funny. Mark had become reduced to being Aarons bitch rather than the clown so he walked.

Aaron had bigger fanbase both online and offline so with 7p votes he got a runaway lead. Alex votes were Miss casual viewer who probably rang to vote once at 35p.

You said it. That is why Aaron won, he had the biggest fanbase :)

He was truly an unworthy housemate.

Hardly 'block voting' - Sorry but wanting a decent entertaining winner to win for once in the show's ******ing history and getting behind someone we all adored, isn't a bad thing to do.

He had alot of fans who loved him and he clearly had the biggest and most loyal fan base in Big Brother history. And Aaron's Army brung him to Victory. Stop trying to make us out to be in the wrong for voting too much. Not our fault that silly Alex and Jay fans weren't given enough credit to spend on them.

Mark's fanbase was no match for Aaron's. Although I do love Mark.

Macie Lightfoot 15-08-2012 01:56 AM

Food for thought, a barometer of someone's offline fanbase is whether or not they were booed at the finale

Blue Cadillac 15-08-2012 06:53 AM

I wished Mark hadn't left; really feel he had the potential to win. Absolutely loathed Aaron and his massive gameplan. He just had no redeeming qualities as far as I was concerned.

Jords 15-08-2012 06:58 AM

FB 7p voting also.

So glad though, else that awful Jay would have won. Aaron is a decent winner that represented his series, him or Alex deserved the win out the final 5. And I wasnt even keen on him towards the end.

Aaron won because he was the best housemate,no excuses needed,he was most peoples fave and they voted for him, every person has their own reasons, thankfully we do not all think the same.

Absolutely, a real winner from the very start right through to the very end too.
Setting a record no housemate will likely beat either.
Topping the votes in all eviction battles he was in and also winning the series.
As you say, no excuses needed, they are just pure facts.
