I think it's a great idea :D I'm guessing they've only done this because of Demi.. she could've ended up mentoring people older than her.. :L

18 hours after the US on ITV2. So Sep 13th and 14th. US version starts the 12th and 13th in the US.

And before you laugh, they had a 13 year old last year in the girls make it to final 5 (before she was accidentally eliminated by Nicole who couldn't make a f'ing choice. )

last year the final 7 was all the boys and girls lefts with a over 30.

Edit I was thinking on how the Top 16 would've looked last year with this split. There would be more girls

For the groups I think that since they would need filler for the 12-16 intensity wouldn't exist so I would say 4Sure or The Anser would've taken their place.

Britney will be hard to predict because Nicki (who would've been her first choice) just joined American Idol

There shouldn't be anyone under 17 in it anyway, never mind a 12-16 category.
