Tulisa's new album 'The Female Boss' sells 7,000 copies in two days

Tulisa Contostavlos's debut solo album is on course to miss out on a Top 10 placing this weekend.

The star's first collection The Female Boss has shifted 7,000 copies during its first two days on sale, despite a high-profile performance on The X Factor on Sunday (December 3).

The album currently sits at number 17 on the midweek rankings, but it is expected to fall out of the Top 20 when the final placings are announced on Sunday (December 10), according to The Sun.

Meanwhile, Contostavlos's new single 'Sight of Me' has landed at number 10 on the midweek chart.

Last week analysts predicted that Contostavlos's performance on The X Factor would make or break the album.

"We're not thinking it will be number one - that's never going to happen," they said. "It won't be Top 5 in a million years. But hopefully it will make the Top 10."

Digital Spy

A rather lack lustre performance on X Factor did her no favours then...

She's useless as a popstar, but at least she's a good television personality.

MeMyselfAndI 05-12-2012 02:03 PM

Shes so untalented & her songs are all terrible. What did she expect, her voice isn't good enough..

Black Dagger 05-12-2012 02:16 PM

Flop bitch.

Z 05-12-2012 02:16 PM

Young was great, it's a pity none of the rest of her music has been anywhere near as good

Brother Leon 05-12-2012 02:20 PM

She's ****, but I thought her new X Factor fans would at least help her sell more than Dappy who flopped too

I actually hope they don't go back as N Dubz, because he will go back to being **** again.

Oh and "Chris, I dunno who will buy the album" lol

MeMyselfAndI 05-12-2012 02:24 PM

Had it been released last year it would have done much better, this year on X Factor she comes across as super miserable

Munchkins 05-12-2012 02:35 PM

Terrible album name... terrible songs why would anyone buy it?

Brother Leon 05-12-2012 02:36 PM

Not all is bad with "urban music"

Skepta flying high on iTunes with a mixtape full of nameless tracks

:worship:

Lol oh my poor Tulisa

Tulisa Contostavlos has defended the chart position of her latest single.

The X Factor judge's latest track 'Live It Up' reached number 11 on Sunday's (September 16) chart, following the chart-topping success of 'Young' earlier in the year.

"I said I don't know if it will even get into the top ten," she reminded BBC's Newsbeat.

"With that single it was strategic to sell the album. I'm not trying to get a number one with this one."

She added: "I know it's urban. I know that it's probably not going to chart high. I want to show a different side to the album. For me it's a bigger picture."

Contostavlos recently told Digital Spy that her third solo single will be a "Christmassy" ballad that will "stand the test of time".

Well the strategy isn't working  and omg sight of you will stand the test of time :joker: ?

MeMyselfAndI 05-12-2012 02:39 PM

:laugh3:
Sight of you is such an awful ballad, it's hilar :laugh3:

arista 05-12-2012 02:39 PM

Must be the Porn Tape
that gave her a low position

Munchkins 05-12-2012 02:39 PM

For me, just like with N-Dubz, I don't care about having a number one album, I care about going platinum. I care about the overall sales. What's the point in having a number one but people saying, 'She only sold 60,000 though'? I don't want that. Most people these days kind of drop the one single and then the album but that was one thing I said I would never do," she explained. "I have to put the background work in. I've got to give people a reason to buy it. I want to prove myself this year, more than ever, as a musician and as a solo artist."[4]

Well she isn't going to sell as much as she hopes :L.. she has no chance in hell of getting platinum

Brother Leon 05-12-2012 02:40 PM

Blaming it on the fact it is urban.

Go away lol. It is **** electro pop and club music.

Skeppy's mixtape is 10x more urban yet is doing fine with 1/20 the promotion she has had lol

MeMyselfAndI 05-12-2012 02:44 PM

urban is **** anyways

Novo 05-12-2012 02:45 PM

Her performance at the weekend was dreadful  probably stopped people from wanting to buy it

Marc 05-12-2012 03:04 PM

I'd love her to debut at #34 on the album charts

ha2

MeMyselfAndI 05-12-2012 03:05 PM

Looks like shes gunna sell as well as Dappy... terribly. N Dubz are so over :laugh2:

King Gizzard 05-12-2012 03:26 PM

Can we imprison her and everyone that bought her album?

I so so so so so so so hope Cowell gets rid of her

Jordan. 05-12-2012 03:43 PM

The album chart is a mess at the minute, all albums seem to flop. She didn't help herself with the single choices though.
