Quentin Tarantino: 'I'm shutting your butt down!'

This is longer than the TV interview
Krishnan Guru-Murthy a Great reporter pushes
it to far.

They ask him the same question every time he's interviewed. I'm not surprised at his reaction. My judgement may be coloured because I think he's a genius, which is a much overused word but fitting in this case. In my opinion, anyway.

Livia I'm afraid I'm going to have to shut down your ass

You get in line, mister.

Marc 10-01-2013 08:52 PM

How big is this line

GypsyGoth 10-01-2013 09:14 PM

Krishnan had an agenda, maybe because of the recent american shootings. Krishnan should have given him more respect. I thought Quentin was very patient with him.

You're right. I must have seen a dozen interviews with Tarantino and always with the same question.

InOne 10-01-2013 09:22 PM

Krishnan kept pushing and pushing, he was clearly looking for a reaction. I thought Quentin held his own and came off well.

Shaun 10-01-2013 09:37 PM

Haven't seen the video but I assume it's either

a) generic "your films are violent!!!! does it influence people???" nonsense that really needs to ****ing die
or b) Leo DiCaprio using the N word, in which case I ask what word an 18th century slave owner should use instead? Gentleman of colour? African-American citizen? Jog on.

Trying to justify rudeness?...

Explain please, whose rudeness?

Quentin's in the fact he wouldnt go over old ground about the relationship between violence in movies and real life violence and kept reiterating that, or Krishnans for pushing a point scoring exercise during an interview that was obviously simply set up to publicise Tarantino's new movie?

Scarlett. 11-01-2013 02:56 AM

Good on Tarantino, I know exactly where its coming from, and I am pissed off at the news media for constantly shifting the blame from a killer to violent films and games, its becoming a joke.

Shaun 11-01-2013 03:00 AM

You know, I saw a worrying boom in teenage chefs with the release of Cooking Mama

He overreacted, no need for the histrionics, just end the interview and leave?

So that it would look like there was some validity to Guru-Murthy's point and he had stormed out in a huff?

arista 11-01-2013 08:03 AM

Yes a Good Interview
because he did not Storm Off

thesheriff443 11-01-2013 08:39 AM

Jamie Foxx shares the same view so maybe thats why CGM alluded to this issue?
Why would politely ending the interview and leaving could be construed as storming out in a huff?...

Stu 11-01-2013 02:01 PM

Good on him. He's dedicated his life to giving the world some wonderful movies and must be pretty tired of the same hackneyed journalistic fluff that gets thrown his way. He has a voice and he used it to shut down complete silliness.

Krishnan is a terrible interviewer.

Krishnan is a terrible interviewer.

Krishnan is an experienced professional who has interviewed some of the most powerful and influential people of our time.

And yet he asked the same old question that every other interviewer always asks him, and that Tarantino has answered time after time. Real cutting edge journalism there...

It may have been in the light of the comments made by Jamie Foxx? whose opinion differs to Tarantinos on the subject quite dramatically.
