Kanye West - Yeezus (#1 obvs)

Quote:

Tonight, Kanye West has proven himself an innovator in the art of the album launch. He unveiled a new song and video via projections on buildings across the world. Above is what was projected at the corner of Bedford and N. 7 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. According to Rap-Up, the song premiered is called "New Slaves". Check out video below.

Kanye's website has posted a map of the world, indicating where actions will take place throughout the night in cities throughout the world. Sixty-six projections are involved in the launch.

The track will be on the follow-up to 2010's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

After tonight's events, we can only imagine what kind of Kanye-isms he's got cooked up for his "Saturday Night Live" performance tomorrow night.

UPDATE: Check out "New Slaves" in full:

Apparently no singles, just straight releasing the album.

June 18th

Smithy 20-05-2013 02:42 PM

oh god that's the actual album cover, i thought it was a picture of a case with it

Brother Leon 20-05-2013 03:03 PM

The name is either going to cause a **** storm and create a sales boost or scare many away and it will flop for Kanye standards. Either way with the sound of the two songs already shown and features like Sosa and Young Chop he's going for a gritty sound and I love it tbh. Bring it on.

Shaun 20-05-2013 03:18 PM

meh, I imagine everyone will check it out and it'll get to #1 anyway because it's Ye but :/

I'm sure it'll be at least "good"...

Iceman 02-06-2013 07:55 PM

No singles or artwork....

I reckon he just wants this album out before miniye pops out of Kimye

Brother Leon 02-06-2013 08:01 PM

Black Skinhead is meh. New Slaves is decent and the Young Chop/Chief Keef/King L Collabs are certified Bangers.

Tonight at Milk in New York, Kanye West held a listening session where he debuted Yeezus. (Yes, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were there.) As the never-before-heard tracks came out, there was one overwhelming revelation: Kanye mentioned that both Chief Keef and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon appear on the same song. It's called "Can't Handle My Liquor". Holy ****.

UPDATE: Kanye also confirmed that Daft Punk worked on three or four songs, shared a track that flipped TNGHT's "Higher Ground" with the Billie Holiday classic "Strange Fruit", and said that Rick Rubin executive produced the album.
Keef and Bon Iver on the same track... should be interesting...

also... Rubin :amazed:
and TNGHT :amazed:
and lots of Daft Punk :amazed:
