This series is slowly but surely going downhill...

Just some points I've picked up on throughout the series.
- Vote to evict taking out all the best characters, this week probably Dan.. this is the main flaw of the series.
- The highlights shows are getting more progressively boring... watching Sam and Sophie's HL tonight was like pulling teeth.
- The biggest bores are being portayed in the light that gets lots of support behind them (Sam - hunky teen that the girls adore, Sophie - thick blonde/Belo routine), therefore guaranteeing them places in the final.
- Saving a HM from eviction on Wednesdays.. even though it's vote to evict just so channel 5 can generate more income.
- Focusing on repetitive storylines... this "triangle" is becoming nauseating to watch now from all corners of it.
- Lack of HMs to support.. I'm finding myself struggling to even support my favourites after some of their questionable actions.
- Running out of steam, some of the HMs have peaked too early and others are becoming tiring. Whilst a large portion of the house don't particularly contribute.
- BOTS is basically unwatchable on the days that the dire AJ Odudu, Rylan and Iain Lee are on. The bias is worse than ever this series, predominantly by Iain.
- HL shows are being cut off for stupid live twists.
- All in all only ONE round of normal nominations - WEEK TWO.
- Poor tasks... not even the tasks are up to scratch this series (maybe firing annoying Jennings from the task team was a bad idea...). Definitely not up to scratch with last year.
- Setting up bias edits for Sam and against Gina
- Too much outside contact, especially when messages from social networking sites are shown to the HMs and they see family members over two times.
- Twists with potential but falling flat on their face
1) This week's was potential brilliance to get a dullard out but has become a massive ****up with another good character going (following controversial Sallie, Jemima and Wolfy).
2) The people's puppet only lasted a week and had potential to go on for a while, therefore ridding the Secret's and Lies theme after 1 week. Allowing the public to nominate was absolutely dire and they should've kept the shredded suitcases charade going for as long as possible (possibly till said HMs left the house).
3) Gina and Dexter being moved to the Safe House was brilliance but that fell flat on it's face as they were revealed in one of the most anticlimatic twists ever.
4) Overload on nominations twists.... we've had 1 proper round of nominations all together, that speaks for itself. Plus HMs with 2 nominations are put up for eviction, which is silly.
5) Putting 2 dullards up but letting them choose someone controversial so there would be no shot in a dullard going.
6) Friends and family nominations..... same old bull****.

I'm not one to make these sort of threads but this has been such a mess of a series I had to put my thoughts across. There are many other points I could talk about but I don't have the willpower to right them all up tonight, so I will end it with these points and I want to stop sounding like a moany sod . Nonetheless, I will continue to watch in hope that there's a glimmer of light in the end.

VTE has lead to perfect results so far.

reece(: 22-07-2013 11:37 PM

Everything is too predictable with VTE, week 1 and 4 would have been much more interesting with VTS.

Jords 22-07-2013 11:40 PM

Not gonna argue with that point but youre claiming that "Vote to evict taking out all the best characters"... in the past this has happened (a lot!) but so far in BB14 its got rid of the right HM every single time.

Brother Leon 22-07-2013 11:40 PM

Vote To Evict gets rid of Dexter or Gina in week 1. I've said it before, but Vote To Evict has been perfect so far and thank **** they changed it. It will be bad this week though.

The public shouldn't have been able to nominate week 1, would've saved so much potential.

This. It's been the best series in years, i've loved every minute of it.

reece(: 23-07-2013 12:12 AM

Obviously ALL my other points are too solid to comment on I guess. Case closed

the truth 23-07-2013 12:50 AM

shame BB played a few too many games ....bring back noms this is just a farce

Roy Mars III 23-07-2013 04:29 AM

you are pretty much right.

Yes, VTE has changed the dynamic it always has since it was brought in. But the real culprit is tinkering with a great twist. Thanks to Charlie's suggestion two HMs were put into the SH who might have gone the whole series without being put up for eviction. A win win situation. BB have ruined a great twist by having someone else join them.

I've watched 8 out of the first 10 BB series and it always gets boring halfway through as the louder, or more controversial characters are ejected. This is nothing new.

The twists are the reason I stopped watching BB after BB9 and BB10 twists. The unexpected and exciting dynamics of both shows were destroyed by stupid twists. Namely bringing in a HMs partner.

In short, in my view BB went to the dogs a long time ago. Stupid twists, favoritism by the producers towards certain HMs and interference in the house dynamics all made the show unwatchable for me.

I don't like vote to evict but Gina WAS up in week 1. Just saying. All in all vote to evict hasn't been as disastrous for this series as its been in the past. Still vote to save with three or more up will clear out the deadwood with great efficiency.

JPG2502 23-07-2013 08:58 AM

On the vote to evict subject, do you people not realise they have manipulated almost every nomination result this series !!
If they kept vote to save, they would not be doing this.

Its a joke.
People really need to look at the bigger picture

I agree. It's got to the stage where twists every 2 seconds are starting to really wear thin. Why not go with a couple of weeks of traditional bb that we all tune in to watch for?

I'm glad that Dan will probably be going on Friday, but it's a twist for the sake of a twist. I'm sure if other hm's had been sent into the safe house, then they'd have had a different "twist" prepared.

It's like they've listened to the criticisms of their past couple of series, and they're trying to correct everything on a daily basis. Why not let the people interact for a while?

I also feel the Daley and Hazel stuff was just such a massive and crazy event, that was building and building over a couple of weeks, that now it's over, bb was sort of left wondering what to do. I still like Charlie, mainly for her lack of tact, but no one else really stands out. They are a decent group together because they all blend into the same nothingness, but there is no one in there that can drag you along with them, or even make you really dislike them, in the way that Aaron, or even Anton did.

Bland people on a bland show.

I could not have summed it up any better.......!!!!!!

cizzah97 23-07-2013 12:50 PM

You're all too stuck in the past, "the glory days", they're long gone obviously, 13 years of a reality show is quite impressive, and with the same format every year, of course its going to get boring, c5 (fair do's to them) are injecting a bit of life into the groggy old format with twists and stuff, be grateful that its on your screens at all I say, I've said this plenty of times, no one forces you to watch. To the person that said they should wait a few weeks for traditional BB, without twists:joker:, if that was the case you'd all be complaining of the boredom, there's nothing you don't complain about "case closed"

CaudleHalbard 23-07-2013 02:49 PM

It's amazing the series has lasted as long as it has.

And I do think some are looking at past series with rosy spectacles!

I can remember long periods of utter tedium in previous BBs.

anne666 23-07-2013 03:34 PM

I agree with most of the OP comments .This has been the worst BB ever for me without humour or real characters. Bland in the extreme.I doubt if I will ever have a favourite now and that has never happened before.

Patrick 23-07-2013 03:36 PM

This is what I've been saying since Day 1 - I knew Vote to Evict would ruin this series, and surprise surprise it has. :bored:

Headie 23-07-2013 03:45 PM

Good point about the nominations actually.

Week 1: Public nominated
Week 2: ONLY normal round of nominations, taking place in the diary room in private, no one immune, all nominations anonymous, highest vote-getters up etc.
Week 3: Face To Face nominations, allowing housemates to discuss nominations after they had all nominated
Week 4: Dexter & Gina immune, nominations take place in diary room in private... only for all the nominations to be played on the plasma TV screen later on in the week
Week 5: Nominations take place in diary room, anonymous nominations etc. HOWEVER any housemates that received a nomination was put up, when Big Brother failed to even mention this to viewers before or after they did it and failed to give an explanation
Week 6: No nominations, housemates unknowingly nominated Sam & Sophie and they unknowingly nominated Dan

So, out of the 9 rounds of nominations, the maximum amount of normal nominations that could happen is 4. Not good enough. I wish they would just leave noms alone, just let the housemates nominate and the 3 with the most votes are up. Week 2 was probably one of the best weeks of the series and the nominations were executed perfectly too.

Samm 23-07-2013 03:47 PM

I don't think VTE has runined the series this series is slowly going up into my top 5

smeagol 23-07-2013 03:51 PM

this show is great it hasnt peaked at all yet, its twster after twister the only negative is the boring housemares bringing it down if only they'd of picked a few better ones

the truth 23-07-2013 03:55 PM

no I think its going uphill now the twats like sally ,gold-digger jemima, Jackie gobs*ite and smellie wolf have buggered off

reece(: 19-08-2013 03:12 AM

From this thread to now I could add so much more but is there any need?
