Do you bother with HD channels?

Since there're two threads about the new BBC ones... it dawned on me that although we have HD, I never really bother to put them on  easier to remember 101 or 103 for the basics.

AnnieK 09-12-2013 05:29 PM

We always watch the HD channels, particularly for sport....

reece(: 09-12-2013 05:29 PM

Have a few of them but prefer just the normal channels, less hassle.. and I can't really tell the difference.

Ammi 09-12-2013 05:30 PM

..yeah I do but it does use up a lot of memory/space if you record the HD one though...which is why most of mine get deleted before I've watched them/sore point....

King Gizzard 09-12-2013 05:31 PM

Not really, i've only started to watch BBCHD and ITVHD, but I never record programs on HD cus it takes so much space, and we don't have a HD package. I'm fine with normal quality...when is it going to be the norm to have HD so that companies stop charging extra for it? Ridiculous

Say if you record an XF program it takes up 3-4% sometimes, whereas if it's normal quality it is 1% on my box

Jordan. 09-12-2013 05:31 PM

I hate watching anything in standard since getting HD, it looks blurry.

smeagol 09-12-2013 05:32 PM

i have a hd tv but no idear what channels are hd or not. i haven't noticed any. i dont really watch bbc there shows suck.
waste of time really not a lot is hd. not much difference anyway

MTVN 09-12-2013 05:34 PM

At home I don't have HD ans always thought 'ah how different can it be' but at Uni we do have it for our telly so I always use it, makes everything so much more vivid

fingers 09-12-2013 05:38 PM

It is totally absurd to have to pay an additional fee to watch HD programmes and another additional fee for 3D, Only in the UK can they get away with that. If the government could put a "Green" tax on TV they would!

Locke. 09-12-2013 05:53 PM

Always watch them, find it hard watching non-HD channels now.

My mum and brother don't really bother though, it's just me.

joe199998293 09-12-2013 06:05 PM

We always watch them in HD, its easier. When we got our sky+HD box, all the HD channels replaced the old channels, like BBC1 was replaced by BBC1HD on channel 101 so we don't have to go searching for it,

Gstar 09-12-2013 06:26 PM

I think my dad paid extra for channels 1-5 in HD with sky so I always have to use HD when I watch something on there, what's the point in paying for HD when you're not gonna use it

Me. I Am Salman 18-12-2013 08:41 AM

Yes because standard looks blurry

smudgie 18-12-2013 08:54 AM

No, too lazy to bother.

We might be more adventurous with our new telly.

I can just imagine the pair of us sat here with or 3D glasses on

Jemal 18-12-2013 09:41 AM

Yea. Its come to a point were if i miss something on a HD channel which is then available an hour later on +1, i won't watch it. Due to it not being hd lol.

Not really. Most of the terrestrial channels dont broadcast in HD all the time so I think its a bit of a waste of time. The Sky HD channels are good but too expensive for me.
