Fake amazon emails

I've recieved a number of emails claiming to be amazon but I think they are fake because they come from various hotmail accounts!

It's so weird, they say things like thanks for your order track it here etc! And then there's a link that goes to the actual amazon.

Has anyone else had these or anything similar and do I need to worry about it?

DON'T CLICK THE LINK.

It's sounds like a scam, just mark it as phishing scam.

For God's sake NEVER click on any of these suspicious links!

The "link" that takes you to "Amazon" probably asks you to LOG IN with your user name and Password?

Josy 12-12-2013 10:38 PM

How do you mean the link goes to actual Amazon? Normally when you hover over the link from thos emails it'll be something really different and random

Benjamin 12-12-2013 10:41 PM

Quite, but if she DID "LOG IN" then she needs to CLOSE that Amazon account right away and open a new one with different details!.

I can't see how you could open and see your account without logging in.

MTVN 12-12-2013 10:48 PM

What's the url you clicked on say, it it http or https?

fingers 12-12-2013 10:49 PM

We're not being mean, but you can't be too careful, You probably have credit card details stored on that account.

I know, I was just joking

The link was just amazon.co.uk I'm too scared to click it again to see what the full thing is

Jessica. 12-12-2013 10:51 PM

Can you paste the link here?

Benjamin 12-12-2013 10:52 PM

Well as long as you didn't have to type your password in to go any further you should be okay. I'd keep an eye on your bank account for a few days just to see if there is any purchases made not by you (not wanting to freak you out).

fingers 12-12-2013 10:52 PM

If the link is in an email just hover over it and it should show you the real addy!

michael21 12-12-2013 10:54 PM
