Moyes "holidaying" in Miami.

Sure it could just be a 'get away from it all' break in sunny Miami, I know he has a holiday home there but given that it's Beckham country now in terms of football it does seem a specific choice especially as Becks has recently talked about getting a manager and stadium sorted out. Moyes has never struck me as a gardening leave, put his feet up guy. He'd imo want to get back in thick of action, go back to cut n thrust of club management. He's a grafter, whereas someone like Ian Holloway seemed a bit slack.

It's as if Moyes is trying to put the feelers out. He's finished in the EPL and won't settle for a bottom half table but defy relegation type team like Aston Villa, WBA or Norwich (unless Cardiff stay up and Vincent Tan has a suitcase full of £50s).

All sacked managers have to tout for work, which ustually means a bit of punditry, and in WC year there is plenty of work up for grabs. But Moyes isn't just a Michael Laudrup, Houghton, Meulensteen, AVB, Malcolm Mckay, Di Canio or an Ian Holloway or whatever manager Fulham sack this month. Moyes is the sacked manager. He's kind of above sitting next to Lineker punditing on Ghana v Serbia. Going to Miami is a bold move but it will give him the opportunity to triumph as Miami will be a project people will back as everyone seems to back Beckham, plus Miami won't be playing MLS for a few years so he can get his teeth into coaching the 16 year olds to be pros when they start MLS.

They'd have trouble attracting any sort of fan base with Dithering Dave as manager.

They can't get a location settled down, another group is starting a campaign to try to stop Beckham and his group from building a stadium in the port of Miami.

I think they should try to go after an American Coach, There's a few great ones in the MLS and that's what City did when they were building the NYCFC organization.

Wow you guys really loathe Moyes. For me he is a hard working honest Joe (whose level or apex is 7th or 8th in EPL) who was simply out of his depth at Man U.

One of the biggest problems with managers is they over estimate their talents. If Man U had offered the job to any of the sacked managers as I mentioned e.g Steve Clarke WBA then they'll say yes of course I can manage Rooney, RVP et al because ALL managers think they are capable. Gus Poyet was sacked from Championship Brighton but walked into EPL Sunderland.

Wouldn't really say honest. In his time at United it was everyone's fault but his own.

He's a decent manager that was just totally out of his depth. However, he didn't help himself at all.

I think he's honest, arguably very deluded in shifting blame but he did think others were at fault imo, but he really believes it, so honest. I don't think he blamed others to deflect from himself.

Managing abroad especially Miami would be good as he'd have less pressure of his poor Man U legacy, and he'd be forced by team Beckham/ consortium to bring in pre-selected backroom staff. None of this axing team Fergie nonsense and replacing it with team Everton. I do like Moyes and would like him to succeed. He's not a jumped up little s*** like certain other managers.

He'll manager some mid table team over here, imo. Would imagine he's just on holiday in Miami.

For all Moyes flaws (rumoured poor coaching sessions, poor communication, route 1 / direct/ negative play, lack of a football philosophy, poor media skills and dull press conferences, lack of ambition, no urgency etc etc) he has got some talent just not at a top 4 type/ champions league team.

People forget, SAF did see something in him.

Yeah, he did a great job in turning Everton's fortunes around.

It's a shame as DM would do well at the relegation-escape teams who stay up e.g WBA. But his pride I think will keep him away.

The reality is there were only about 5 managers in the world capable of following SAF and doing well. Everyone else probably would have *******ed it up just as much as Moyes if SAF had annointed them.

Rumours of Spurs wanting him.

I'm pleased that he's getting interest. Sick of folks treating him as if he's the worst manager in the history of EPL.

My worry with Spurs is they would demand top 4 next season and that Levi character is trigger happy. Basically there needs to be a WHL clear out (Bale money wasted) with little cash. Moyes needs a bit more ambition and vision.

At least Moyes can add CL football to his CV and Man U did progress further than all English teams bar Chelsea.

I don't think United progressing further will count for much. That 2-0 defeat, and torrid performance, away to Olympiacos will be more prominent in the mind of Levy.
Arsenal and City both had tougher opponents.

All 3 played Bayern but Man U played them at a later stage and iirc didn't do to bad at home.

Well that's a reason not to join Spurs, Levy is at ease with sacking managers (SAF would have been axed within 12 months under him imo) and sacking no 2 in about 18 month would demoralise and destroy someone like Moyes.

In a way if Moyes had been sacked earlier he would have been good fit for a team like Zenit SP, mind you AVB is thriving.

By the there is no way Moyes will sign with Miami because they have no set date to start playing. It could be in two years could be three
