The Island Of Lost Blokes with Bear Grylls. Starts Monday @ 9pm Channel 4
Bear Grylls versus womankind: TV explorer accused of sexism over new men-only show that tests survival skills on a remote island.
He is a very modern adventurer, a man who has been to the furthest corners of the world and lived to tell the tale, getting by on his own wits and determination. But it seems that, in his latest battle, Bear Grylls has taken on an opponent stronger than any frozen continent or jungle trekking route – the wrath of womankind. He stands accused of sexism after Channel 4 announced the latest small-screen show to star the 39-year-old television explorer. The Island Of Lost Blokes will see 12 hardy souls join Grylls in trying to survive on a desert island using just their instincts and ingenuity. ------------------ Fgs - someone people will moan about anything. It's not sexist. :bored: Anyone planning to watch? |
Having two groups might have been more interesting?
I can see how it could be seen as sexist but as it could turn into lord of the flies 2 I'll let it go :joker: I'm going to watch. |

ok here is my 10 cents of first impressions - i love it.
the island with bear grylls - day 1 - is this the new Big Brother ? 06.05.14 well done channel four this is a winner i am already craving more and unlike "Big Brother"this time i am no late beginner. what a fabulous show i can not put a price this is a ch4 glow its your "baby" paradise. what a amazing adventure it has brought to light reality but before you get dementia in there circumstances is no normality. out in the wild nothing is on tab weird experiences will be filed none more so then catching and eating crab. i love it and are hooked it gave me good thrills everyone have the tv booked because gripping is "the island with bear grylls". |

food deprivation on the island - ch4 Bear Grylls 13.05.14
second show was brill "i'm a celeb" and "Big Brother" it does rival this show is all about skill its a determined factor in every-ones survival. absolutely gripping beating is my heart drum on the edge of my seat slipping watching them scavenge for a crumb. fail after failure down was going every wish all proved no sailor proof was the inedible fish. out of the blue was a cheeky smile i feel on its way is a beach barbecue how brave were these to capture crocodile. respect for the slaughter all done quick and humane it made all there mouths water this was a great education obtain. the start is the bickering rows are in the post a clash of personality's is flickering but to "Bear Grylls" and to "CH4" i thank you toast. omg this is great viewing. well done ch4. |
I'm so sick, I was laughing my backside off at them most of the way through again. I didn't get the bit about the fish, how would they go off in the net overnight?
Next week looks good when they kick that gobby one off :joker: |
it does - i will be tuning in for sure.
|
I watched this last night and quite enjoyed it.. Not so much the murder of that innocent crocodile, but hey ho, survival of the fittest and all that :)

Oh In regards to it being sexist? Why?, can we not have one gender programmes anymore? Atleast it'll just be about their survival on the island and we won't be subjected to the showmance s**te that inevitably occurs during any mixed Reality shows. Would there be cries of sexism if it was only women in the show? Probably not.
