Quite surprised to say that for the first time in the whole Channel 5 era of Big Brother that I actually like something they have done.

They've so much effort in it unlike last year

Marsh. 10-05-2014 10:39 PM

Lots of effort went into last year. :suspect:

Doesn't mean no effort was put in. Channel 5 graphics tend to look tacky but they finally started to break the mould they were stuck in since 2011.

Regardless if you liked them or not (it's subjective), they put effort and thought into the branding a strong theme, thats a fact.

I'm not saying they didn't put effect in last year I'm saying that they have put more effort in this year for the eye and hopefully the house etc

nope they were still lazy.

Samm 10-05-2014 10:54 PM

They put effort into the whats the secert thing and getting rid of Brian

But they totally mess up with the eye the dark one was good then they change minds and turned it to a colourful mess

Marsh. 10-05-2014 10:55 PM

They didn't change their minds.

The two eyes was the point. Hence the "effort".

Still they didn't have the effort to add some more housemate in half way

I can't believe there are people who DON'T think that was planned and thought out.

How is that relevant to the effort put into marketing/theming?

:conf: You're seriously clutching at straws now.

New housemates weren't needed IMO. It was refreshing to not have an influx of newbies who don't go through half of what the originals do and end up cluttering up the final. That's got nothing to do with effort.

I though the marketing was fine I just think they planned it out in a mess

I like the ad with Emma in

They also didn't make billboards or posters last year as well

Marsh. 10-05-2014 11:03 PM

Well we've only had the logo released so far so you're a bit premature with comparing it to last year's campaign.

Last year saw the highest ratings for civilian BB since it went to C5 so whatever they did, it paid off.

Samm 10-05-2014 11:05 PM

I know and I'm happy it got strong ratings but the nomination twist nearly every week where a mess, I liked the series but it got a bit boring half way

I may have used the word effort in the wrong way

it was anything but refreshing. the series nosedived after week 4, new blood was needed to shake things up. instead they just did a desperate twist every week
